NLB Mobile (Old Version)

Why another apps to provide the same or additional functions ? Positive selection buttons on the left, old style. 8 letters profile name is too limited. Barcode scanner working for lots of materials on Xperia Z1,Z5 now, need further test on CD/DVD. Good effort but Loading myLibrary and switching between accounts are slow. OR Enter Barcode: can only check materials availability but can't borrow.

y not just linked it up to google calendar or something which will do a pop up notification reminder rather than having sms email service? And Bt Panjang Lib is not on my list.

I gave up on NLB Mobile App before because it was the least helpful App. Gave it another chance because of CNA article and set myself up for disappointment. Nope. No ebooks download on NLB Mobile. You still need to access their website at eresources.nlb.gov.sg [update: Note that this is an old version(blue logo) the new version is of the same name with orange logo] Strongly Suggest that NLB remove the old version or rename new version indicating clearly the current version to avoid confusion]

Plenty of connectivity issues. Unable to refresh the availability of the book at certain libraries. Probably client side server unable to cope with the demand.

Would give one more star if I could save search results to wishlist, and setup a watch list for book availability

Very convenient app to check my account status and to search for books availability on the go. However wish that the speed performance of the search can be improved. Overall very useful app.

I was stunned to discover that this app can (1) renew all borrowed books with one click and (2) borrow books by scanning their barcodes! This is more than I could ask for.

Seriously, NLB should rename this version of the app as "NLB Mobile (Old Version)" to avoid confusion with the new app which has exactly the same name. With 2 apps having the same name, users are likely to download this one instead of the new version (the new version allows ebooks to be borrowed while the old version does not).

The application should include features found at the website so it will not be so mafan.

It would be good if the searches can be bookmarked. Now I have to manually screenshot every search I make.

Would be a great alternative to having to use my library card, if it was working. When attempting to scan barcodes, the app crashes. Looks like this problem was reported at least 2 months ago but still not fixed.

The only hassle is creating another new login ID. If only it could have been linked to our Facebook or Google+ account and verified by a two-step process for ease. Anyway, past that, it means a great deal less hassle searching and borrowing, as well as bring notified for books due date and saving the printing of receipts. I hope it will keep improving, because the library kiosk and web service is archaic, but this app is simple yet works.

Unable to login with the correct details. Triple checked user details. Says error and shows some info like foreigners and prs who need to borrow ebooks need to register of something. Giving wrong password or id though gives correct error.

I did try click to 'scan' many times but the app immediately stopped n exit. Re-install the app n try, still same issue...is anything wrong?

If you have ten items and 1 item incurred a day of outstanding charge, this will prevent you from renewing the other nine books before due date. It is akin to one rotten apple that spoils the whole basket. In the end, you have to pay for ten overdued items instead of just one. Worst is when you are outstation and only realized that you've forgotten to renew one book (when there is no auto-renewal option for this app). Bummer, no?

Does what it says! Haven't tried the scanner to borrow books though. If this could be integrated with Goodreads...Edit: Fixed, thanks!

Apps crashed after trying to use scanner function. Used to work.

Click scan & it crashes. Complained to NLB but they couldn't be bothered & were very defensive.. Typical NLB attitude to public feedback..

Crashes everytime when scanning barcode.

The scanner button is a stop button, each time i tough the button, the apps closed. Search is not searching, it just give random books even when i entet exact book title or author.
