MITRA provides bus commuters in Mysuru a very easy way to commute.
--> MITRA takes a initiative to make the passengers journey more comfortable, specifically WOMEN passengers. Passengers in the bus have an option where the user can click EMERGENCY-SMS to inform their Friends or Family (2 Pre-Registered phone numbers) about their emergency situation and current location.This option is available both Online and Offline.
--> WOMEN-SAFETY feature also provides a call service where the application scans the users current location and connects the user to a nearest Police Control Room, which helps the getting help as soon as possible.
* MITRA has a very easy user friendly interface which allows the user to locate, find buses around the city instantly.
* NEAR-BY option shows all the Bus-Stops near the user tracing the users Location. Where the user can know all the upcoming buses at that bus-stop, and the user can also track the current location of the upcoming bus.
* FROM-TO option helps the user in finding buses between the user defined source and destination.
* MITRA also provides ALTERNATE-ROUTES, TOTAL DISTANCE and the buses to be boarded if direct routes are not available.
* FIND-NEXT-BUS option allows users to know the buses about to come to a particular bus-stop in REAL-TIME.
* TRACK-BUS option helps the user to track the buses running in particular bus-stop in REAL-TIME.
* The App also provides details about all the Tourist places and the bus details regarding all the tourist places.
* Users have the option of accessing the official MITRA website by one click.
* TIME-TABLE provides the scheduled departure and arrival of buses related to a particular bus-stop and time provided by the user.
* ALERTS helps the MITRA KSRTC to communicate with the users of the app regarding any new updates of the city.

If we have to select a stop, we are given so many options to choose for one bus stop, which is confusing. For example if we want to select city bus stand, then in pop menu throws out several options like city bus pf-1, PF-3... UNLESS EE KNOW THE PLATFORM, WE CAN'T SELECT THE OPTION

Everything is completely real time. If the app shows that some bus is about to come at 1:30 then the bus comes exactly at 1:30, i was completely shocked to see this. And we can also track where the bus is at present. This is what was needed.

I was such impressed by this app which help the bus commuters in not only giving the bus information's,but also the add on features of the app such as the women safety feature, adds stars to it.The places feature is one of its kind,helpful to find the nearby restaurants ,hospitals and many more.Thus makes the must app for all mysoreans.

Pathetically designed app. It is idiotic to cross check with sms. Why? An international traveller will pay through the nose to receive an Indian sms, therefore overseas users are excluded from using the app. Tablets without sim card cannot use the app due to sms checking. The developers are not aware of the fact that location can also be figured using wifi, with cellular tower triangulation & not GPS alone. GPS will not work in the ground floor of an apparment; hence, the gps reminder is annoying. Naming convention of bus stops is ridiculous. Think about it, there is no bus route from Kuvempunagar Complex to Railway Station according to the app. How? There are 4 listed stops for Kuvempunagar Complex & 4+ stops for Railway Station, an incorrect choice will indicate no routes, and in reality there are umpteen number of bus schedules between the 2 locations. I do not know how figure out the bus stop selection based on a reference number of the 4 stops in Kuvempunagar Complex. Referencing numbers for bus stop is a bad decision by KSRTC, it helps them, not the commuter. Why is there a need to access the contacts? Why is there a need to access sms when the user needs to enter the otp? Why is there a need to access the phone? Look at how BMTC app has been done, and you will realise why this app needs better software engineering.
