When you're working in the heat, safety comes first. With the OSHA Heat Safety Tool, you have vital safety information available whenever and wherever you need it — right on your mobile phone.
The App allows workers and supervisors to calculate the heat index for their worksite, and, based on the heat index, displays a risk level to outdoor workers. Then, with a simple tap, you can get reminders about the protective measures that should be taken at that risk level to protect workers from heat-related illness—reminders about drinking enough fluids, scheduling rest breaks, planning for and knowing what to do in an emergency, adjusting work operations, gradually building up the workload for new workers, training on heat illness signs and symptoms, and monitoring each other for signs and symptoms of heat-related illness.

Please specify all locations for cooling packs (neck, armpit, crotch), please note importance of pacing water intake during stroke/exhaustion (rapid intake causes issues) and specific volume/time for correct pacing

Worked for a couple weeks. Niw when I try to use it it comes up with "address entered not found". Previously it got the location without my entering anything.

The information is short and straight to the point. After turning on my location, I can receive the Heat Index immediately.

I see no option to refresh the results. Have to close the app , completely and reopen. Or, type in a new location. Many times the app will not find the location or data.

The only thing that upsets me more than the fact that this piece of trash doesn't give any information that your phone doesn't already give you automatically, is that Federal Tax Dollars were wasted in the development of this and that Tax Dollars are continuing to be wasted on servers to run it. Shame on you, USDOL. Shame on you, OSHA. Shame on you, DC. I want my money back.

My boss bans the possession of smartphones at work, so your app is totally useless. If I bring my phone onto work my boss will take possession of it. I work in a factory where the coworkers deliberately let hot humid air into the building, and lately my health is poor. Please email me to obtain secure communications, there are lots of OSHA violations at my work.
