Bluetooth GPS for Android
Works with non GPS RCA 7 inch tablet. Can get GPS from phone and use navigation with tablet
I think this app will be perfect if there is an counting down clock to indicate external gps baterry level and Alarm for low battery warning !! :)
I have been using this app for many years now, and comparing other app, this is the best in the world ;)
Sensational bluetooth connectivity with my Navida tablet... We use this software to integrate into Mappt software to give us precise position from an external GPS device.
Works great with my Garmin GPS 10X. I only wish it could pass my phone's compass orientation information through to the mock provider too.
This is ingenious! A very clever use of an Android testing feature that has saved me from having to rush out and buy a new phone just for directions! My GPS died on my LG G3, so I dug out an old Bluetooth GPS device from my Windows Mobile days and fired it up, and ouila! Accurate directions once again!
I have a great Bluetooth GPS I want to use to have better navigation on my galaxy note 4 and couldn't make my apps see the GPS. This app does what I needed. Just had to activate "Mock Provider" to be enabled and it sends my coordinates to all navigation apps. Thanks!
It is not true that the bug related to Android 6 is fully fixed. How the problem appears? Start the app, enable the mock provider. Connect to the GPS Bluetooth device. Firstly it gets connected. Fine... but try now to lock the screen, then to unlock it and you will see freeze in communication between the app and Bluetooth device. On Samsung and LG phones you need to start and stop the app several times until it gets normally connected to the GPS device.
Mock location function works perfectly. Couldn't be happier. I use this with my "Dual" brand GPS (model XGPS150A) along with the AllTrails app ($30/yr and we'll worth it) for backpacking, and they all work together wonderfully.
I am using Telenav external gps provider to woek with this app. Until few days ago it was working flawlessly but now I see just Date coming back from gps device that too wrong one. Also I noticed the app is showing 12 in view but showing 'In use' 0. Any help in this regard will be appreciated.
I am just testing this app in a Google pixel with noggat. My first impression is very positive. The pixel tablet is great but it comes without mobile data or GPS. It means you can forget about the build it in location services, they just suck. But if you have an android device like my old Samsung galaxy then you can use a first application to share your GPS position via blue tooth to this client application. Once you enable the mock GPS application feature ... Careful the documentation here for this app is not good, it should explain what you need to configure to get your Google maps to work with the coordinates this app absorbs, then you can ultimately get a functioning Google maps in your tablet. Quite satisfied. And you can do all this navigating in offline mode thanks to Google maps cached maps. Very nice.
Tired of being miles away in pokemon go? This isnt the path for you. I had a garmin glo for biking so i tried to use it. Mock locations do not work...
Very good stuff! I have a Bad Elf GPS Pro bluetooth device which is actually designed for use with Apple IOS hardware. It works extremely well with my iPad Mini 2. It can also be paired with non-Apple devices but it takes some effort. In order to satisfy my curiosity, I installed this app on my Samsung Galaxy On5 phone, which was purchased at a T-Mobile store, so the Marshmallow 6.0.1 OS is definitely tweaked for T-Mobile usage. It should be noted that I pre-pay my cell phone service and it does not include any data usage. So, I have set the "Here We Go" app to run in Offline mode only since I can't access the internet unless I'm on a wifi network. Naturally I have to be connected to wifi to download maps. Anyway, I wanted to see if my Bad Elf hardware would tell the "Here We Go" app where it was while driving. It does! Once the bluetooth connection is made between the GPS device and the phone (and the "mock location" settings are on), I don't even need to turn on the phone's location service and the map app will still give me turn-by-turn directions on a route. I'm impressed!
Recently updated Bluetooth GPS ext device and mobile phone, both worked with this app! I now have a Holux RCV3000 BT GPS & Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 running lollipop (MIUI v7).
Don't do anything at all. Simply can't connect nothing happening. How to connect? Tow phone dconnected but no signal or something. Furstrating.
This app send a list of installed apps to a server in the US. I can only imagine it is for some kind of profiling.
Using this to connect my Garmin GLO to my Nexus 6P on Android 6.0.1 Works like a champ. I've been using it for 2 years now. You can't beat ten position updates a second from the Garmin.
When i am connecting it why it is saying unable to connect...lose socket ...timed out..........
I'm using this app to connect a Garmin GLO to a Asus Zenphone 2. There is a bit of a trick - when it tells you to go into settings and check "mock location" you won't find the item, but you will find "use fuse provider." Check that instead and it'll work just fine.
Finally got around to rate this excellent app. I use this with my external gps that is fast to fix and can work in a lot harder places. Eg a moving train or in buildings(granted not accurate as outside).
Always disconnect using nokia ld-3w & holux m1000, after upgraded the latest version
Great app, easy to use and just works! With a good external GPS, this will make up for alot of the shortcomings and prove far more reliable than the phone's internal AGPS.
Great app, I use it with my Qstarz BT-Q818X receiver. Just one thing and that's why 4 stars instead of 5: the status bar icon (the little ball) is white all the time now on Android 6 and I am not able to distinguish between fixed and non-fixed state. On Android 5 it used to be blue while it had fixed position and white while still trying to fix.
Two of my portable GPS devices allow me to pair them with my tablet. The app does not connect with either. A message is displayed briefly that just says the connection failed without giving any error code or further explanation. My tablet has GPS installed but that does not receive the signals in the middle of a room. Sorry, a good app diagnoses a problem and gives useful info.
Internal GPS aerial on my Nexus 5 is not working. Bought an external GPS for my car. This app allows me to connect my phone to that easily and quickly and use all my nav apps with even more accuracy than before my phone broke! Excellent. Use the widget then it's just one touch and its working.
This app works wonders with my old Nokia LD-3W gps module in connection with my Xperia Z with 5.1.1. I tried another app before and was not quite satisfied but this app has it all. I'm especially happy that it includes it's own maps since G. Maps didn't recognize the GPS module so I couldn't use it. But this app has that covered and works great. I recommend this app 10/10. Good job
Nexus 5 (W/ Android 6) and mobilemate 866. Am using this app to utilize the GPS data as my phone doesn't seem to read it directly. Reads the data well and provides WAY more info than the average Joe knows what to do with. Very easy to setup, use and interpret. I had to turn on the "Mock provider" setting to enable apps like Waze to share the data but that was a few clicks and done. Verified it by comparing location accuracy with the app on and off without moving the phone. Big smile, need I say more?
Works!!! Even with an older Delorme Earthmate Blue Logger Bluetooth GPS, model LR9537. This breathes new life into a an old device for me. Thanks!
After spending hours trying to link a Nexus 7 with a DualXGPS 150A, this app did it in a few minutes. Dual and other manufacturers of external GPS units need to contract with the developer of this app to include it with their hardware setup. In addition, this app works seamlessly in the background while running Backcountry Navigator, Gaia GPS Pro, OsmAnd, and CoPilot. It has turned out to be the essential link in turning my Nexus 7 into a high quality GPS unit. 3/22/16 update After my old Nexus 7 died due to a fall, I had to reload this app on to another Nexus 7. I couldn't get it to run after many attempts. I then discovered you have to both "Enable Mock GPS Provider" in the Main Screen and specify it as the location app in the Settings menu using Android 6.0.1. I used this app and the apps and hardware mentioned above and it got me "unlost" many times during a trek in southern Turkey in October 2016. I would never attempt a similar adventure without it.
Recently updated Bluetooth GPS ext device and mobile phone, both worked with this app! I now have a Holux RCV3000 BT GPS & Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 running lollipop (MIUI v7).
Is there a way to use raw data
It gives me the possibility to use an external GPS when I drive my car.
Use it to provide enhanced GPS to my phone inside the car. The GLO can be positioned where it has a much better sky view than does the phone. Works well. There are two little things keeping me from marking 5 stars. The status dot is supposed be blue when working. That happens on my S-III but not on the N6 with marshmallow. Once in a while the status dot rapidly flashes like it's freaking out. Stop and restart fixes it.
This allowed me to dust-off and use two old i. Trek GPS devices. Though long in the tooth, each of those locks satellites in seconds (compared to many minutes w my Samsung phones). This app works for me w Maps, though unhappily, not with a speedometer app I like. Haven't tested with Google Sky.
Simple,no fuss,no ads,very powerfull,reliable,what else do you need?Tested on XT1254 Stock 5.1 with palm external bluetooth GPS
Works fine, but annoying ads. Would be nice if it could autostart & autoconnect.
I have been using BLE modules from HuaMao for custom GPS solutions and developing my own app to support them. It would be great if this app sypported BLE.
Although my phone has built-in GPS, I sometimes prefer to use my high-accuracy self-powered bluetooth unit. This app is updated regularly, and seems to do the job just fine :)
Only wish is for autoconnect on launch.
