GoneMAD Music Player Unlocker for Android
This is the best Android music player around, no contest. For starters, unlike every other player I've tried, when sorting by artist, it does so by album artist. Other players sort by song artist which can result in a single artist's work being split into multiple artist listings. On top of that, it is very customizable, from the UI to the audio settings (the bass boost feature is great for earbuds with poor low frequency response). In short, anything you want out of a music player.. Gone Mad has it.
I find it weird that I have to go back to the artist tab to look at the track listing for the album I was on. Also, recently the music sound has become low quality and keeps skipping for songs that used to be fine. (This is not an earbud problem because I tried them with my iPod Touch and it still sounded fine there. It also doesn't seem to be an Android problem because the sound on YouTube videos plays fine.)
in classic view please add favourite view so we can pin favourite album, songs etc. add recently played album. can't hide views and still able to access it. when press the 3 dots options don't always appear at the bottom of the screen have to use 2 hands. when jumped from now playing to album back button doesn't go straight back to now playing, same with artist .still the best of many highly rated that i tried
I've been using it for two weeks (I spend a lot of time listening to music) and I must say this player is awesome. I tried and bought other players but this one takes them all - I wonder why it's not more popular. I'll write another review in the future after I'll feel I used it enough to give a constructive critique. So far 5 stars. No pause between tracks is amazing.
Navigating an entire library on mobile is a massive pain in the butt. I used to think that the way PlayerPro handled navigation was unbeatable, until I tried the gestures in GMMD. I'm now zipping through my library so quickly. GMMD is also very flexible, with many options for things that you didn't know you needed customised. It's also very sleek-looking, using the current material design. If you're looking for a player to do something specific, try this first.
Simply the best music player, available. No question. That's it. It's the best one. You've finished looking. Just download it, and buy the full version, and never worry about music players again. The support behind it is amazing as well, with fast and helpful replies to questions. I couldn't rate this app any better! I'd give a tip if I could!
It's the best no doubt but the only problem is that all the music I purchased through Google play won't show up in my library for whatever reason. I'm not sure if its something I tweaked but I really don't want to go back to my default music app just to listen to the music I purchased today...
Love it! Only thing missing is an indicator or "themable widget" that shows details like file type, sampling and bit rate at a glance. That would make it easier to navigate collections containing both low- and high-res files. Apart from that, this player is flawless!
It has a steep learning curve if you ask me, not that intuitive in some matters but I'm learning to love it. Please please resolve one issue: how do I stop player from scanning ringtones? I hate when I hear a ringtone after Depeche Mode :) And when I delete it from Player I have deleted it from entire phone. That is something I do not want. Edit : thanks devs, that worked. 5 stars!
Love the player but no gapless playback and no option in settings it seems to turn in on. EDIT following the reply... To clarify, gapless playback does not work. There is no obvious way within the app to do anything about this. If it is enabled by default what about people who want to turn it off? (I don't. I want it to work but it seems like an odd design)
I have tried every player you can think of and even been burnt a few times by buying some of the highly advertised apps. GoneMAD is the only player that has nearly every feature I was looking for! Plus, even with all of it's customizable settings, it is still user-friendly
Works pretty well and has lots of features and configuration options. However, embedded album art doesn't work. I have about 2k MP3's, all with png/jpeg album art in the audio files. Whenever I play a song it just shows a black background. And even if it works in album view, while playing a song it doesn't show up.
Very impressed so far with the customization options and fast handling of a large database, sound quality is excellent as well. If this supported multiple genre tags it'd easily replace the other apps I still have to switch to from time to time.
Used Poweramp for a long time but the audio skipped all the time despite the tweaks in the menu. With GoneMAD I don't have that issue (I'm using the beta version). My only wish would be a treble/bass adjuster.
love this player!!!! never paid for a music app but this one deserves it. great new UI color choices as well. love the overhaul!! would love if it retained eq memory dependent upon aux or headset type deal. also perhaps delete file really deleted the file and the ability to convert file by extension.
Unfortunately, I have yet to find a third party equalizer app that doesn't forget (for lack of a better term) the settings after a few minutes and this one is no different. It would also be nice if it worked with Pandora.
I really love this music player and the customization it offers. The only annoying drawback for me is that a few times per day, its large notification appears randomly (the one that also shows when playing music), so I have to click on the cross to exit. I don't know what is causing this! Even on the lockscreen, the small notification appears. Both appear without any album art, just the media control buttons. Any tips?
I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 as my car stereo. A big gripe with all other players is that the fonts are too small to read from the drivers seat. I love that this let's you edit the font size and what information is displayed. The split screen mode is great as well.
Please, 1) don't use the light font weight everywhere (I know it's cool, but it's cooler when applied with parcimony). 2) The separators in item lists are horrible, I'd love an option to make them transparent. 3) I need a "white" option for accent colors in the material design themes (every color looks terrible on orange). Otherwise, it's the best player around, and the only one that supports album artists. Definitely worth the buy.
after the last update all my playlists disappeared and Everytime I make a new one it doesn't save please someone help I am going crazy trying to sort this out. otherwise a 5 star app
Hello, can you make the shuffle permanent? I mean, I have the shuffle queue, but when i shuffle an album directly - without selecting a song-, the shuffle icon is going off. And it's annoying to select the shuffle icon again when I wanna to listen a playlist for example. Good app btw!
I've replaced poweramp with this as I wanted a change and it was getting stale. This is a really great player, but how about about hi-res album art, more theming options (icon-changing?) and sharing to other apps? This would put it head and shoulders above the competition. EDIT - Sorry about the Chromecast mix-up. Wasn't working for me initially.
I now have control of my music library. Changes to the music via the tag Editor appear and the embedded album art works. I did contact support about duplicate playlist. They responded in 5 minutes and gave me a solution that really works.
I have to restart sometimes for perfect gapless playback, why can't Android get this right? This is my current favorite player, tons of options, yet simple UI. However its scans outside designated scan paths and phone sound effects shows up as songs.
I've been a PowerAMP user since 2010. Back then, it was the only music player with gapless playback ability on Android devices. Others have come and gone, and PowerAMP still sat on my phone. That is, until today. For whatever reason, PA just cannot handle gapless playback from my SD card. I've tested the SD card and there are no issues. Playing the music from the internal memory allows the gapless playback to work like it used to under PA, but for whatever reason, playing my music from the SD card just doesn't work anymore no matter what tweaks I've done in PA. Enter GoneMAD. I downloaded the trial. Yes, it's a different beast than PA, but it had pretty much the same features as PA, but the gapless playback worked in GoneMad whereas in PA, it's broken for some reason. Playback is flawless from my 64gb SD card; the same card that doesn't work under PA. That tells me that somehow, PA isn't reading from the SD card correctly or something else in the way it is reading. But GoneMAD works great. I hate to say it, but i think PA has been retired. GoneMAD is my new music player, so I decided it was time to shell out the money for it. It's worth it.
From audio quality to customization, this app does it perfectly. I came from the iPhone music app and was disappointed with many of Android's. I think I've found the replacement, and it's two times better.
I have no idea what paths are set. The only way for me to find out is to open literally every folder to see if there is a check mark for one of its subfolders. Please bring back the old UI with a list of selected locations. I love this music player but this design change was completely unnecessary and tries to fix something which was never broken. -- Edit: In response to the developer's reply, I normally would. However, to be frank this change is bonehead and deserves the 1 star rating. We are in a period where form is taking priority over function. I implore you to cease following this fad. Fix the issue which I have outlined, or even provide an alternative (reasonable) selection interface, and I'll gladly replace it with 5 stars. Yours truly, a paying customer.
The Best, and I've had em all! Simple and no bloody nonsense , nice one guy's
I've tried the trial , not a day went past that I felt I needed to support the developer. Excellent music player. Loads of customizations. Great job. One suggestion - add more swiping effects to now playing screen such as cube , tablet etc.
I regret paying for, and will uninstall, this now. Son was playing songs, and some wretched rap genre abomination came up and I told him to delete it. He thought delete folder meant to remove all songs in that album 'folder'...not the entire music collection. Why is that even a thing? How can you go from "Someone might want to delete a song." to "Obviously, deleting all music from the device should be there as well." That's a ludicrous genesis for an idea! UPDATE: In response to dev response since I can't seem to reply to that directly, I'd like to say that the songs were in the Music/mp3s ... so... that folder no longer exists. That is to say the entire _collection_ no longer exists because it wiped it out. It's a terrible feature. If there were a clearer distinction between 'folder' == filesystem directory/entity as opposed to his idea of a hierarchy based on the tag metadata 'artist'/'album'/'track' then this might not have occurred.
All the different settings that you can adjust makes this music app uniquely superior to all others. It'd helpful if these options had a more detailed description of what they do, just in case something is changed and causes weird app behavior. One small bug is when you're scrolling through your music list with the scrollbar going by letter, it doesn't work properly. It fixes itself when I change the "sort by" option however. I'm on a T-Mobile Galaxy S5. Other than that everything works perfectly!
It would open and will crash in the middle of songs randomly... now it crashes when u push play ...REFUND PLEASE....WHAT IS WITH THE RUDE COMMENT I HOPE EVERYONE SEES THIS MESSAGE .. I DID EMAIL YOU AND I WILL EMAIL THE TRANSACTION. .. I TRIED EVERYTHING IT STILL CRASHES
Dear GMMP app dev team: I commend u 4 offering ur excellent product with transparency, as a trial w/opt 2 purchase. Good support, too. Str84ward. No BS. U have my deepest respect. Others promote their apps as "free", then "politely" inform the EU that he/she's gotta cough up in order to opt out of the maddening adbloat. Feels like extortion, I tells ya. U guys, on the other hand, r
I loved this app when I first started using but recently the playback has been stopping quite frequently for no apparent reason. Got so fed up in the end went back to the basic android music app, at least it keeps going!
Read title. Worth downloading, thanks to whoever replied to me and helped, I would just like to say that u should probably say holo themes are necessary to change settings
OK so was very pleased 5/5 when I first started using this app. Well now that I'm more familiar with it and played with all the features this thing gets 10/5 stars. There isn't a better app for music on google, this is it search is over. Just pay the small fee for the paid version, so worth it.
Some files show up as Unknown Artist even after fixing tags both within the app as well as with other applications. (Nexus 6p on 6.0.1) Otherwise very happy, this has been my goto music player for over a year. Very well featured.
This is a fantastic player. It has a great UI that is easy to use and not over-engineered like so many other players. The UI is very responsive and has some great customization options. You can set up the song title, artist, album to show many useful strings, such as bitrate, album year, next track, and a couple of dozen more. There is a lot you can do with it. You can build search queries to find specific songs. For example "create a list of all songs that have not been played in over 100 days"--very handy. It has a huge number of settings for cross fading, button handling, replay gain, and more. It is even smart enough to not cross fade songs that are gapless such as many live albums. There are a couple of minor problems. Setting the titles to italic does not seem to work. Also, it's a bit heavy on battery use (but not too bad). I would like to see it support different EQ settings if you are playing via BlueTooth or via head phones, etc. so that you can automatically have different EQ settings for your car or when listening via headphones. In summary, this is a fantastic player. I very rarely give an app 5 stars but this one deserves it.

Love it, can set up things like a double tap gesture to switch to mono listening, for when I only have one headphone on. Not only does the music not frustratingly stop when i get a notification (I'm looking at you, Poweramp ...) but I can adjust the percentage to cut the volume by. So many thoughtful options. Keep up the good work, dev!
