Madsonic Media Streamer

Seems like the only option when you're running a masonic server. Way too few updates and no new features. The random song feature doesn't even pick from all media folders.. really not worth the price.

Moved the server from Raspberry Pi to Windows and this seemed to fix all the problems I was experiencing from the server side. Noticed this morning that I'm having buffering problems on Android where it won't buffer the song but in the browser the same song will play no problem (I think the problem is on my side and is not caused by MadSonic). For all of you complaining about problems... As web/android developer myself.. Writing "This thing sucks"... or "It doesn't work"... is a waste of your time and the developers... Help the developer to help you. READ THE LOG!!!! This is the single greatest way to get your problem fixed... Otherwise the developer is looking for a needle in a field full of haystacks...

The login I use in my paid server doesn't work.... Gives me a wrong pwd... Works with subsonic Android

Has always worked perfectly on many smartphones, but today I found out that there's no way to save a new server on a Galaxy Tab A. I can add a new one, but testing the connection will always fail with no error message, and the server won't be saved. Any advice?

Been using this for over a year. Works well but needs cleaning up. Also hate the termination of music when switching between offline and online.

Actually very good software, but after the server trial period expired, I can no longer play my music, and there is no way to upgrade to Premium !!? Can you believe that!? They try to encourage you to upgrade (pay), and there is no way to do it. The Premium choice on their web site has been greyed out for weeks and they do not reply to questions anywhere.... Has anyone out there been able to figure out why this company do not wish to sell their stuff?

Hope you want to listen to an artist, or album,because if you search for individual songs, it will FIND THEM, but you can't actually play them...

But needs a gui redesign... Feels like a 90s app...

The app functioned halfway way prior to the most recent update and now it takes a full 2 minutes to open. Took the developers this long (a year) to produce another sub par update?

Login function is buggy, one time works other doesn't. Confirmed on product forum, but nothing fixed. Interface is poor, functionality is hard to use, no lossless streaming. It's not clear what you are paying for.

A heads up would be nice before somebody (namely me) chuck £2.50 in the bin

masonic is far better than other media servers i've tried and the client is pretty good too. actually works consistantly. only complaint is I can't select albums easily. guess I'm old fashioned :-)

This is good don't get me wrong but there are a few things missing most notably the lack of dlna

Used to looking up songs by song name... but it forces artist Have the server running on Raspbien. Couldn't be happier UPDATE: Been running for a little while. It seems that it works perfectly on my phone but when I use it on the tablet it causes the server to hang during requests, which then causes and subsequent requests from any client to hang. I have created a cron job to reboot the server nightly. This seems like an extreme step for a debian (Raspbian) based system. I am NOT working from the latest debian build and this might be the cause...

Love the additional controls over other apps, still encountering issues with Bluetooth meta data. Dev is great, happy to support the cause!

I'm totally disappointed. The application manged to reboot my phone which is 'notable' achievement. Paired with Madsonic servers it generates traffic on the WiFi in an infinite loop. I have to kill the app on Android to stop the traffic.

This is a great app, wish it had the ability to play random songs by specified filters such as starred, genre, date range, artists ....something like a personal Pandora or perisonic... Hit a button and let it play random songs all day from ones own personal collection. Stopped using it because it kept shutting down my madsonic server instance. Switched to DSub

Not working anymore. Replaced with dsub. Dsub works great with great looking features. Best part, its free on their website..google it!

Fast, easy on the eyes and works great. Best *sonic client by far.

Love using MadSonic, Worth buying this to support the developer over SubSonic..one thing that really annoyes me though is all the cover art showing in all my picture/gallery apps, anyway to change this???

New version broke it for me, nothing plays any more.... can't get a response from developer. Disappointing for a paid app...

Not cool. When I pay full price, I expect full function. So not cool!

I bought this app after switching from Subsonic media server to Madsonic media server. While the additional features are nice, playback freezes constantly and playlists do not advance to the next song. Very frustrating if you are driving. Not worth the money, in my opinion. There are free options that work better. Personally, I expect better from a paid app.

Ive searched a long time for an app like this. Madsonic does what i need plus more. And in a beautiful interface as well. Kudos to the developer.

I love Madsonic (the server). The app is okay, but not great. My main issue is that the Bluetooth metadata transmission doesn't work correctly. For some reason, if I have 10 songs queued up, and song #1 is playing... the metadata for song #2 is sent instead. So my car says I'm playing song #2, but song #1 is actually playing. Once song #2 starts playing, it says song #3 is playing. I don't know why. Every other app that sends the metadata works as expected. I"m just using the UltraSonic app for now. Hopefully this app continues to improve.

Need the ability to upload to server. Dsub is catching up with madsonic on android. May already be better. Fantastic job incorporating podcast.

My own music...no need for any other apps or music service. Works great with my car too.

New clients shouldn't break compatibility with old servers!
