What are users saying about City of Portland PDX Reporter

A great idea, problem is app needs to be updated to work with the new versions of android. Then the lazy bums down at the Portland building actually need to do something when the good people of Portland report it.

U70%
by U####:

Bug error while uploading pictures, also directs you to use other pages that are not accessible or found on android. The Contact info page is not an option until you attempt to send, then it alerts you that you did not properly fill it out and forced you to the page. That page also cannot be viewed in portrait (only landscape,) but then the actual form always forces portrait... very clunky on a galaxy S7

U70%
by U####:

this ****ing city. wasting tax $$ on developing a useless app vs. actually improving that which needs improvement. two thumbs up!!

V70%
by V####:

Abandoned vehicle reports open for a week plus, no response. GPS map location UI is non-intuitive. App needs to STFU about disclaimers after 1st open.

U70%
by U####:

Great tool for cleaning up my neighborhood and preventing crime . I took pics on a street thats had 12 cars sitting on it dead, for at least a year and within a week all the vehicles were tagged moved fixed or towed.

X70%
by X####:

What a great idea, but if the app crashes on taking a picture, what's the point?

U70%
by U####:

won't show any screen for contacts, won't load pictures. Won't show previous reports I've made even when it says it will.. How much of our tax dollars went into this app? from the sounds of it from other reviewers it has never worked well.

U70%
by U####:

Have ZTEMAX PRO. DOES NOT ALLOW ME TO CHECK ON REPORTS. DID PRIOR. GET IT Together CITY THAT WORKS!!!

U70%
by U####:

Insists that I provide contact info that were supposedly optional, but refuses to go to the screen where they can be entered.

U70%
by U####:

I tried to put in my contact info and I don't think it worked. I submitted the request and called the number anyway.

U70%
by U####:

View report area is a scroll to the bottom of the screen...not obvious and only allows you to scroll and view reports when it feels like it..which is not often...great idea and I hope they continue work on this app...it just needs improvement and focus...understand they can't fix and address all reports...various reasons I'm sure...if they can fix report status and show fixed or say we can't fix it right now....communication is the key...

C70%
by C####:

Also, the contact info page is scaled poorly

U70%
by U####:

Outstanding! Every pothole I have reported has been filled within a month.

R70%
by R####:

Don't bother installing this. Reported a stolen/dumped car almost a month ago, no status update on the "case" when I return to the app, no contact from the city, nothing. The car is still sitting there in the road with one window partially down, filling up with snow and water. Like everything else in this god-forsaken city, this app is window-dressing on nothingness. I can only imagine the reports are sent to Mayor Hales himself, as ignoring constituents is his life's only joy.

U70%
by U####:

Seems to have been abandoned and the name and functionality folded into a new system called CitySync still in beta.

J70%
by J####:

It's impossible to attach a photo in Android 7.1 which means it's impossible to submit a Graffiti report.

D70%
by D####:

I just sent a report from far away from the problem piece of roadway, and long after I deleted the picture of the problem. Yes, the app again lets me select a problem category, so it functions at least on a basic level. Next time I'll take a picture and see if I can submit it with the report. I'll be happy to have this back - it's important enough to have on my phone's home screen.

N70%
by N####:

I was unable to attach a pic to my report and the app crashed when taking a photo. The file fields for entering contact data were to small in portrait.

N70%
by N####:

Let's me go through the steps to attach a photo but it never appears in the preview pane. Was very easy to use other than the photo issue.

I70%
by I####:

The main page states 'To Continue, tap the button in the upper right hand corner...' , yet there is NO button in the upper right hand corner. Also, there's no way to track your reports. As of 3 weeks using this app, nothing has been done about the 10 graffiti reports I've filed.

Z70%
by Z####:

Worked for awhile. Now the categories are all gone and I can't submit reports anymore. Galaxy Note 4

N70%
by N####:

Can't attach photos and no idea if it actually submitted as nothing been done.

P70%
by P####:

App does not work. Tried to report several pot holes. No categories selectable = no submission.

N70%
by N####:

Now it does not allow me to select a Report Type, which in turn prohibits report submission. So, essentially useless now.

N70%
by N####:

App crashes and runs badly. Needs updates. Has great potential. Seems to not be monitored by anyone for updates. I have had abandoned vehicles towed as of late though, unsure if it was coincidence or the app worked. The app itself just needs to be improved. You can't view reports or sign in, etc. Could be great but is sub par at this time.

N70%
by N####:

I am apparently missing buttons, because I'm told to view the"my reports" screen, however there is no way to get to this screen or button. Also, there is supposedly a "contact details screen, and again... no way to access it. Otherwise a good idea and could be a great app. Using a Samsung Galaxy s6 edge.

N70%
by N####:

App doesn't work it crashes when taking photos. City of Portland has abandoned the app.

N70%
by N####:

Looks like it no longer works with the latest Android update. The select report type pulldown is not working.

P70%
by P####:

Unable to submit report, category list says "Categories not available" and a report cannot be submitted without a category. Galaxy Note 4, fully updated 3/18/16

H70%
by H####:

I have not been able to file a report with this app on a Nexus 5X running Android 6.0.1.

N70%
by N####:

It always says categories unavailable

V70%
by V####:

Categories not available. Doesn't display report history.

N70%
by N####:

App tells me a report type is required. And says categories are not available.

N70%
by N####:

Easy way to report

V70%
by V####:

A lot of bugs

M70%
by M####:

Garbage from start to finish. Can't display right on a Galaxy (very popular phone ) and reports get no responses anyway.

Z70%
by Z####:

GREAT idea, but could not attach a photo, there were no categories I could choose from and the buttons looked funky (not displaying properly).

U70%
by U####:

I've submitted 3 abandoned car reports...NEVER get a response.

S70%
by S####:

Abandoned vehicle reports open for a week plus, no response. GPS map location UI is non-intuitive. App needs to STFU about disclaimers after 1st open.

J70%
by J####:

Great idea, poor execution. City doesn't seem to be responding to reports from this app anymore.
