John Gill (b. 23 Nov 1697, d. 14 Oct 1771), was an English Baptist writer and theologian. Gill was a strong Calvinist. This work is considered his magnum opus, a commentary on the entire Bible. This was originally published in two parts, the 3 volume An Exposition of the New Testament (1746-8), and the 6 volume An Exposition of the Old Testament (1748-63). Gill was a life-long Hebrew scholar, and he also learned Greek by age 11.
Gill’s commentaries are still widely used today by laity and pastors, being theologically sound and practical for daily study. I use this app nearly every day. I use the highlighting feature a lot, also the note taking feature. Twice in my almost 1 year of use I've discovered a section of commentary missing. I sent my finds on to the editor. I'm so grateful for this app. It's a wealth of information.

The layout of the app has been improved and the commentary by John Gill is very rewarding. The editor has done an incredible job with this update, making navigation easier and even allowing you to read the bible within the app. It is great, I recommend it!

Too stressful in searching verses in the app. You swipe a lot of dozens of pages why?.Please do your best to renovate this app.It often shuts down after a fast speed of swiping. It often deny to be installed especially when you backup your phone then trying to reinstall. We're in a modern world people.Do SOMETHING.

Ads are 1 thing....but flashing ads are intolerable, even if it is free.

Does what it says. Navigation could be improved by taking you to the verse, not just the chapter (would have given 5 stars otherwise). Search function is there but is very slow.
