GasBuddy: Find Cheap Gas

WARNING: GAS BUDDY TRACKS ALL YOUR TRIPS NOW. I noticed my phone battery dying quicker lately, and Gas Buddy was the culprit. To my horror, it's tracking my trips without my consent. By the time i noticed it, a few dozen locations of my trips are already saved. No matter what's the intention, this definately crossed the boundary.

Latest version is a battery hog on Android 8.0. Even with app closed it continues to run in background and pull from battery.. getting continual alerts from Android OS. When when I kill the process, it restarts in its own sometime afterwards....wash, rinse, repeat. ☹️

The previous GUI generation was funky but excellent, the current version is beautifully terrible. You don't have to be a GAS GURU to find a better app. A year or two ago it was nearly impossible to make it in an area's top 10 users; now I can make the top 4 without trying. Now is a great time to enter their $100 contest since no one around me seems to be using it anymore. (ie, stale prices.) A great application ruined by GUI visionaries and accepted by management. At least they're trying to help w/hurricane gas info.

It used to be useful. Now when I enter a location I see only a very few stations. Between my town and the adjacent city I now only see one station listed instead of like 20. Not sure why they decided to make the app useless.

Has been a great app until a couple months ago update did the auto-zoom to a closer level than I liked. That was fixed in a update about a month ago. Starting about this time last week (Jan 17th or so) the app has turned into a battery hog, using up to 35% of my battery even when I haven't launched it, and have the screen off. Open the battery usage stock app on my LG and kill it, and a couple hours later it's running again. Did two updates in past week and problem still persists. Also as another reviewer mentioned some of the stations are becoming hidden until you zoom in to very close range and manually hit on that station to get it to show. Some of these stations have very competitive prices to some of the others that perhaps are paying for better placement?

Top tier gas still missing. Difficult viewing prices on latest 2 updates. Sorry I updated.

It is a great app in many ways, but please make the Wallet available to us Canadians too! Otherwise what are we building up all these points for? Fix that and the battery drain issue and I'll be happy to upgrade to 5 stars.

While the usefulness & functionality of this app are fine, it uses WAY too much battery & data. It is my number 3 mobile data hog. I only use it once or twice a week. I assume this is mostly advertisements.

Great Game app.you can have 700000 points with one gas price report...Customer service may get with you in a few weeks and now I rated it 1 star they will put me on restriction.Should be 1/8 srar.

this used to be my favorite app, now it keeps getting "internal server error"s and is literally unusable

Top Spotters contains Gas Buddies who haven't posted prices at some stations in many months. Not fixed in latest release.

Latest update sucks. Won't load stations. Just spins. Let's go back to making it easy to see and report gas prices!

I keep get app not responding asking to close or wait... I then look up and see that i have a notification show a start of trip is detected... How is that possible when I have location disabled and trips disable? Giving one star as this now seems to be an intrusive app tracking my actions...

It works, and saves me $. My biggest complaint is it eats battery. Always running in the back ground, and auto restarts. When I end an app, I want it to stay off, unless I turn it back on.

How the f do you turn off trips? And more importantly, why the f did you turn them on without asking the user for permission first?

Very cool app that you can save $.15 a gallon the first time you fill up work the gas buddy card which is also very easy to setup & get working.

Very convenient app. Sometimes prices will be a little off, but it's been a long time since that's happened.

Excellent app for any occassion from finding cheap fuel to finding stations that have fuel in a crisis.

So far, so good. I have a saved search on my GasBuddy account, but I can't seem to access it from the app...only from the PC. Any way to access this from the app??

My go to app always when buying gas. Especially living so close to the border

This app serves my main purpose, locating gas stations by price, distance sorted by prices.

It pays to have gb on phone. Such a diffrence in prices

Not much customer support there should be a link from the app to report problems that actually works

Accurate 90% of the time never leave the house without it!

Kind of like the idea of this giving me gasoline prices.
