This used to be a great app, but then the ads kept popping as soon as I opened the app. I use it in a church group practice setting, and up until today it was merely irritating to have to wait to use the app. Today, it took me to a site that locked my phone controls and said it was badly infected with viruses from visiting porn sites! White screen and vibration ensued. Had to restart phone. Uninstalled.
The metronome itself was great, so I put up with the invasive ads, even when they opened up the app store, because I liked it so much. But when it starts launching full screen ads that hijack my phone's vibration function? Screw that! I'm done with this app and this developer for good.
DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS APP. Before this was a very useful tool, however the app now redirects users to the ads they banner at the bottom without actually clicking the link. Recently the app also will open malicious websites with inescapable pop up warnings that is very hard to get out of. I have isolated this app specifically and tested on my other devices and this is definitely the perpetrator. Don't waste your time with this trash, it could potentially damage your phone.
Good app in terms of functionality, served me well for years, but recently the ads have gone next-level and force-open to a store page or website. Just today it took me to a porn site. Last straw for me, will be looking for an alternative.
An absolutely fantastic app that ruins itself with intrusive and disruptive advertisements that have basically rendered the app unusable. Every time I open it I'm immediately directed to some random app or game on the play store. I have no issues with advertisements on a free app content creators deserve to be paid for their work, but when these ads render the app useless it ruins the experience.
I used to love this app. It has great features. Now without touching it, it will take me to a website or play store to get an app. I have no problem with it having ads, but it shouldn't leave the app to take new to the ads ' location!
Thank you so much! This app is perfect! I'm a beginning guitarist and this helps so much! I can have the metronome paying in the back ground of a youtube video! I haven't seen another metronome that can multi task! And it has easy adjustable beats! Buy far a 5 star! Although less ads would be nice! But great all the same!
Though the app sometimes serves its purpose as a repetitive clicking sound, most of the time it fails to do even that. This app constantly crashes on me when I click the "start metronome" button, which is the only button you would hope would work. None of my error reports seem to have been taken into account either.
I loved this app for a very long time and used it all the time in my lessons. Now, there are popups constantly and now my phone is apparently infected with malware. Every time a window pops up, my phone starts freaking out and said it's going to crash from malicious software. Ridiculous. Uninstalling. It was a great product, but it is unusable now.
It's got all the standard stuff as well as cool sound packs, one of which isn't even painful to listen to! How can you go wrong with an app that goes tick? Well, by putting ads on it. They get pretty inconvenient at times, sometimes just popping up over anything I'm doing. It also uses an astounding chunk of battery for a ticker. If you get this it'll work, but you'd be doing better for yourself with basically any other metronome app.
Needs to have a visual cue as well. Preferably, the device's LED indicator would flash with the tempo. If that is not globally feasible enough for most device's (I have S3), then maybe a flashing area on the screen. The changing numbers is actually a little much to keep up with in your brain when you're trying to play and keep your own tempo, not to mention singing along.
I used to always carry metronome in my bag but since I found this app, my metronome is no longer needed and given to my student .. thank you for this app and I couldn't ask for more. Maybe you would consider making a programmed metronome? Like for 8 measures you would have duple meter then for next 8 measures in triple meter sort of thing. That will make my life way easier! It would totally be worth the money! Thank you!
When they say this has everything a musician could ask for in a metronome, they aren't kidding (well , everything but swing eighth note subdivision, but that's still really good). It's a better metronome than my actual, physical metronome. It deals with different meters beautifully; it has amazing subdivision options (again, other than swing); its "tap the tempo" option makes transcription so much simpler. Really, just a great app all around. (Not to mention, it's FREE!)
I would prefer to rate this app on how well it works, instead of the ads it shows, but I can't. I'm a music teacher in a Kindergarten-8th grade public school. Today while I was using the app during middle school band rehearsal, an ad for porn popped up. Thankfully I'm the only person who saw it, but I used this app all the time at work, and a student could have easily seen that. I can't take that risk. It's fine as a metronome, but I thought it better to pay for an ad free metronome.
Everytime I open the app now it just opens up an advertisement in my browser and it doesn't stop no matter how many times I close it. If there were no advertising problems the app would be close to a five stars for me. It simple ans easy to use and has some nice features I would use but like I said I can't use it now so I had to uninstall it.
The app works incredibly well and has a lot of the functions you'd want in a metronome app. I dislike the ads that sometimes pop the web browser open upon opening the app (understandably); I would likely still use the app despite this if it weren't for the amount of battery drained using it.
I have to say, this is my favorite metronome app. The click regardless of what it is cuts through whatever in playing making it incredibly useful. However, the reason I'm giving it one star is the amount of ads on this app make it virtually unusable unless you cut off WiFi and data. I understand the producer needs to make a living, but this isn't how you do it. Take out the constant popups and this app will be amazing.
This is a fabulous app, simple to use with a straightforward interface. But now the ads interrupt the beats? In the middle of a rehearsal a Google Play popup shows up. I don't mind getting ads since it is a free version, but why must it interrupt what we're doing?
This metronome app used to be the absolute best. It came with a lot of features that other apps made you pay for. You could subdivide any time signature easily. Now all its good for is opening spam pages, sometimes back to back! And then I can't even get it to work most of the time. I'm very disappointed as I use this metronome daily in my practice. Time to move on, I guess.
I use this app on my tablet, and I would like to ask You kindly to add the option: Screen Rotation. It could really boost the usage of the app if I didn't have to rotate my head for setting a new tempo. Highly inconvenient for a great app like this one. Please make it setable for Screen Rotation.
Fantastic metronome app. I use it all the time for practice, and it never turns me down. So simple to use, and yet very flexible. Only thing I lack is for the UI to flip horizontal and match my new nexus 7. Besides that it works perfect. Doesn't get in the way, just helps out in the background. Very nice.
Used to be great, but like others I am uninstalling it due to it loading ads in the browser and in Google Play Store every few seconds while I am trying to use the metronome. This spammy behavior seems counterproductive if it drives away so many users of the app.
I like the app a lot. It's very simple and easy to use. It's just a very quiet metronome. I use while drumming. Even with ear buds in and headphones over them, it's still fairly difficult to hear even while playing softly. Maybe increasing the metronome decibels or adding a different sound to really cut through the music would be very nice.
The app is very useful. However, the ads can be detrimental. I clicked an ad by mistake while I was in a hurry and my phone appeared to be infected by malware. The worst part is that a fake amazon site and an adult content site popped up. Do not get this if it is for your child!
Doing a grade 4 piece and I needed a bit of help with the timing, this did the trick and helped me get it right! Maybe it is just no Ads for me as my Samsung galaxy y is rooted, but apparently this is meant to be the ad supported one!
I used to love this and was very useful, however recently it has been stopping, force closing or not when opening. When it stops, the icon that it is running stays on my notification bar for several days but will not open app. I need to uninstall and find one that consistently works.
This app opened two spam websites within five minutes of me having it open, even though I wasn't tapping on the in-app ads or interacting with the app in any way except for having it open. Suspicious as hell; would not recommend to anyone.
What's up with the pop up ads from Walmart???? If I can't use a simple metronome app without ads popping up then why should I use it???? Please fix, NO MORE ADS!
Gabriel, I hope U get enough income for working on this app, because it's completely great. I don't need separate devise for everyday using anymore, there's ALL in the smartphone. For free. Good job should be paid well. BUT, I hope it's still not so much because of the money, but because of the inspiration :) Big thanx. Keep up.
Permissions and ad experience are forcing me to uninstall this app. As a professional, it has been my favorite till I realized the security issues.
The app itself is a useful tool and very simple; I always got what I needed out of it. However, when it started taking me to pop-up ad sites in my phone browser, in the middle of trying to play something, it lost all credibility. I want a metronome to keep my time, not to try to force-feed me some garbage advertisement like everything else does. Don't use unless you like being interrupted every two taps to be whisked away to the land of online ads.
Pop up ads in chrome and the play store. There are other metronome apps that don't have ads this bad. App used to work really well and the tap tempo function was great
Used to be fantastic! Now I can't even open it for 5 seconds without all these spam websites opening up on my phone. Complete trash now..DON'T DOWNLOAD
I've used this app for YEARS, both on and off the stage. It was the best click on the market. Unfortunately the past two weeks I've been getting nothing but porn site pop up ads. They'd pop up while playing live and run through our in-ear mix. Very disappointed and very unprofessional on the makers of this app.
Now I can't even open it. I have 4 pop ups for stupid games every time I touch anything. Seriously, if you're that hard up for affiliate cash, use an affiliate related to the field.
Ads take over the app and switch you to the browser, randomly, quickly and often. Part of the metronome is SEEING the beat count, and watching the rhythm, but you can't see the numbers moving when it constantly throws you OUT of the app and into a random browser commercial. And imagine, if you're using a metronome, the odds are, your hands are busy playing the guitar or doing something like performing where you can't pause to exit out of browsers 4 times in a 2 minute period. I don't think it was originally like this or I would've uninstalled it immediately - must be some aggressive update.
Ads are ok, that's why it's free. But it's gotten to the point where I can't even use the app's basic functions without having to fight constant, full screen pop up ads.
Loved this app. Especially as I could save the tempo for each song. Since my Android updated it's system software half my apps don't work. Android problem but still frustrating
The worst app ever!!!! The metronome is fine and all. It's not a doctered beat, but it's not complete crap. The major downfall of this is the adds. It got to the point where I couldn't even use the metronome because it brought me to an add every 3 clicks!!!!!! Not worth the effort!!!
