The book describes the rules, procedures, regulations and practices of the General Assembly which are scattered among various United Nations documents in a simple, easily understandable manner. In his foreword, President Deiss, former Federal Councillor, expresses his hopes that the handbook would contribute to the preservation of the institutional memory of the President's Office and would become a useful tool for all those working with the General Assembly.
