My Visit to the Louvre for Android
This app is a fraud; DO NOT BUY! Crashes; audio guide never downloads; the Louvre should be embarrassed. This app attempts to download a 640 megabyte zip file, which you can see the progress of in the Android "Downloads" app. However, the Louvre WiFi won't allow you to download this file in your lifetime. If/when you can ever get this huge file downloaded, you may be able to unzip it yourself with an Android unzip app. This file contains jpg pix and m4a audio files, which you can listen to with native Android audio apps through the File Manager app. Unfortunately, this Louvre app itself is hopelessly broken, and Google needs to remove it from their app store, so no one else gets defrauded. App updated itself yesterday. It now crashes reliably every time it opens. The developer is obviously completely incompetent. Google, PLEASE take down this fraudulent app, so that no more customers will be nicked.
App is very buggy. Location barely works. On top of that it freezes often. Did not use the audio books (wifi at Louvre is almost non existent).
Good but not exhaustive. Only audio no text subtitles or at least couldn't locate. And description only present for few items
Fraud? Audio guide does not download
This might be the worst app I have ever downloaded. We were headed to the Louvre so I figured this would be great to use for the audio tour. I paid the money (which is more then the cost of the rental audio guides) and proceeded to try and download the content. The app froze multiplier times and locked up my phone. The download failed on wifi. After locking up my phone at the museum just trying to open it, I got a data usage warning from my carrier....It downloaded a GB of data over the cell connection!
Terrible app, crashed after about 5mins of use every time I tried using it. I just wanted a written guide of the Louvre without having to deal with an audioguide. Even when I could get the app to work out only provided an audioguide anyway, that you had to pay for.
This app truly is as bad as the reviews imply. At first I thought, "Nah, it can't really be that bad. People just like to complain". But no, it really is terrible. All I wanted was an interactive map so I could plan out our walk. The app just crashes every time I open it. Lame.
I installed the app and then bought the set of audios (600Megas) ... Nothing happened. The app collapses anytime I try it. Let me know what can I do. Thanks. I own a Sony XPeria T2, 16 Megas sd card. Does the app use much more for cache memory? Do I need a hard disk to run the app? I can see you answer almost only good comments and french family names, what a shame. What did I get for my money? Uninstalled it now
I downloaded the app hoping to use it rather than hire the audio guide. I clicked on the audio guide and paid for the full guide but the download didn't work. Whenever I clicked on it again it said I had already paid for it but have no option to download. Not happy
Useless app. I should have paid for hiring an audioguide at the desk... This app keeps crushing during an attempt to download PAID FOR contents and a map is inaccurate.
Good app. Unfortunately I was assaulted and phone stolen on Paris Metro. Asking if I can restore paid full audio guide. No reply.
Paid for the entire museum download. But the download never happened. Worst part is the developer is unresponsive to email.
It kept crashing. It would crash after 30 seconds to a minute. :/ I'm just going to pay the 5 euros for the audio guide there.
It is a really good app and helps a lot with navigating around the museum. If you are really interested in knowing about the history and culture and not just clicking loads of pictures, this is a must!!
Great indoor accuracy, but compass shows wrong direction
The audio guides cannot be downloaded, but they charge you anyways.
No painting explanations, nothing that tracks where you are for quick search, no English/French communal search (real titles are in French). Sometimes crashes. Weird semi 3d map for some reason.
Very inconvenient to have to do a manual scroll and search everytime I want to hear the audio guide entry for a specific artwork. I don't see any way to punch in the numbers like a regular audio guide. Also can't keep it playing in the background?
It doesn't work at all! This app reflects the lack of organization of this museum.
Opened properly twice, crashed a couple of times, never started afterwards until re-install. Map is good though.
What a lost opportunity to add some value.
Can't wait to test it in September
There are signs in the Louvre encouraging visitors to download this app. I did it using the Louvre WiFi, thinking that it would save me from having to stand in line for the Nintendo audio guide. Not so. The app was very glitchy. I paid the 5 euros to download the audio guide on to my phone but with the slow speed of the internet at the Louvre, my visit would have been over before the download was complete. I ended up paying an extra 5 euros for the Nintendo audio guide anyway. Can I have my money back for the app's audio guide please?
Very very slow. Each time you activate it, it reloads everything.
The app is actually quite good! I was really impressed by how well it works indoors for navigation. The app didn't crash on my phone as well. I didn't download the audio guide, so I can't really evaluate that.
Great app Little bit time taking to understand But very useful
Don't waste your time
Keep crashing when I click download audio. For security reasons maybe should add a feature to show nearest emergency exit.

App's map and ubication work fine. Everything looks promising until you want to download an audio guide. It crushed, tried again and it downloaded a french audio, which vanished mysteriously.. There are much better guides for the Louvre, even with enhanced reality!
