Futurs - Musées de Marseille

Exposition Evénement à la Vieille Charité, du 22 mai au 27 septembre 2015 :

- Cent oeuvres venues du monde entier pour retracer les influences partagées entre l'art, l'architecture, la science, la robotique, la science-fiction et l'astronomie.

- Matisse, Miró, Calder, Léger, Kandinsky, Ernst ... réunis dans le formidable écrin de la Vieille Charité.

- Trois thématiques Metropolis, La Guerre des Mondes, L'odyssée de l'espace, pour un fabuleux voyage dans la mémoire du futur.

Au début du xxe siècle, le développement de la science et ses applications dans les domaines de l’architecture, de la robotique et de l’imagerie spatiale, nourrissent l’imaginaire des artistes et font émerger une nouvelle esthétique, tour à tour poétique, futuriste ou utopique.

De la représentation des métropoles modernes à celle d’un espace devenu accessible, de la mécanisation de la société à l’univers fantasmé de la science-fiction, la prééminence de la science a radicalement transformé l’imaginaire des artistes et ouvert un nouveau champ des possibles.
Cet esprit visionnaire, qui anticipa ce qui allait bientôt advenir dans la réalité, est à l’origine des avant-gardes qui transformèrent radicalement la représentation artistique.

Futurs, de la ville aux étoiles retrace, à travers plus d’une centaine d’œuvres – Malevitch, Léger, Kupka, Ernst, Matisse, Calder, Miró, Mondrian, Kandinsky, Klein, Erró – les grands mouvements artistiques du xxe sie`cle a` aujourd’hui et éclaire les liens et les influences unissant l’art à la science. - One hundred works from around the world to trace the influences shared between art, architecture, science, robotics, science fiction and astronomy.

- Matisse, Miró, Calder, Leger, Kandinsky, Ernst ... together in the wonderful setting of the Vieille Charité.

- Three thematic Metropolis, War of the Worlds, The Space Odyssey, for a fabulous trip in the memory of the future.

In the early twentieth century, the development of science and its applications in the fields of architecture, robotics and space imagery, feed the imagination of artists and make the emergence of a new aesthetic, poetic turn to turn, futuristic or utopian.

The representation of the modern metropolis that space became available, mechanization of society to the world of fantasy science fiction, the preeminence of science has radically transformed the imagination of artists and open a new field possible.
This visionary who anticipated what would soon happen in reality, is the origin of the vanguards that radically transformed the artistic representation.
