Geco - The eco driving guide for Android
Mpg horsepower kW saloon sedan etc... if the app is in English then the units must be as written on the user's manual
Super
I like the assumption that you could get a mapped analysis of your driving behaviour, but the current version of GECO lacks in quite a few aspects: 1. It crashes quite often, sometimes immediately, sometimes during a drive. 2. why is default 4 vehicles? most people have one (1). 3. clicking on a specific travel leads to the view of another trip. 4. what do all those indicators mean? there are three with no apparent description nor relationship. one scale I had best 200 another 300 but another only went from 7.7 to 8.1 ... the third i cannot remember ... 5. the tips on how to improve are the same independent on how I drive, really! 6. I have the notion the algorithms do not take into account that roads are not straight horizontal lines. There are curves, hills and what not along the way. Going down a steep will increase speed by more than 10% on a highway, even more so going up with the same pressure on the accelerator. Noting that going through a curve with constant tangential speed is still an acceleration. I like the dots to show driving style over space. I would like to more frequent sampling, especially when mobile is charging, or even to be able to fine tune it.
I like the feel of the application and the possibility to replicate the characteristics of your own vehicle in the settings. The vehicle's speed profile is very accurate and the computation of the corresponding eco-optimal speed is quite fast (calculated at every interruption). It is very interesting to see how inefficient some driving styles are in terms of energy consumption. This application acts as an eco-driving "teacher". Well done.. keep up with the good work.
