Critective's First Date

First (food) Date

You knew you had it in you all along. The last time you went out for dinner with friends. When they raved about the food, all you could do was to smile, but think it needed that little touch of acid. Later you looked up the reviews for the place to see if there was anyone else who thought like you. You were always the "critective", the critic with an inquisitive mind to dive into your theories, and this right here is where you feel at home. This is an app for those of you who are not only foodies, but have that little extra whimsy to not just relish but also interrogate and rate.

Follow these 3 Critic-all steps:

Get Adventurous: Train your palate by trying new things. This job is not for the faint-hearted.
Be Anonymous: Make reservations under a fake name (like Mickey Mouse, Pink Panther, Dark Knight or Hannibal) and keep a low profile (we mean very low!).
Take Risks: When you try a new dish, be sure to bring a friend who can fill you in on a certain type of cuisine. Ex. if you’ll be having martian food, bringing someone who grew up in Mars would be a good idea. Yes, very good idea!

Tips for Critectives:

Even though you have the App-etite, between each bite, try to take a mental snapshot of the dish, and remember your impressions of it. Just remember!
Do not take notes at the restaurant, you don't want to tip the restaurant off that you're a Critective. Just don’t!
If you are doubtful after your first date, do it all over again. It’s only fair to have a second date before deciding how you're going to rate that dish. Just do it again!

Rating Scale:
Bitter (Unpleasant - This is not something you should have even considered dating.)
Salty (Poor - All that glitters is not gold. You are glad you survived the first date.)
Sour (Average - Might consider a second date.)
Sweet (Pleasant - Attractive, right size, right texture, smells and tastes good.)
Umami (Umami - This is different. This is out of the world. This has no boundaries. This is...this is...LOVE!!)
