Levävahti

Levävahti-sovelluksella voit ilmoittaa omista levähavainnoistasi. Levävahti on suunnattu kaikille, jotka liikkuvat vesillä tai veden äärellä ja ovat kiinnostuneita seuraamaan vesien tilaa. Havainnon voi lähettää vaikka lenkillä rannalla koiran kanssa, mökkirannasta tai purjehtiessa avomerellä. Myös tieto siitä, että levää ei ole, on tärkeä.

Tietoa kerätään sekä sinilevien että rakkolevän esiintymisestä ja runsaudesta. Sinilevää on sekä merellä että järvissä, rakkolevä taas on merilaji. Rakkolevän runsaus on merkki hyvinvoivasta merestä, kun taas sinilevä koetaan merkkinä meren tai järven huonosta tilasta. Voit arvioida silmämääräisesti levän määrää ja lähettää havainnon asteikolla 1-3, tai jos levää ei ole lainkaan, arvolla 0. Levävahti sisältää esimerkkikuvaukset helpottamaan havaintojen tekoa. Voit halutessasi liittää myös kuvan levähavaintoosi. Havainnon paikkatieto saadaan automaattisesti.

Havaintosi tulevat olemaan esillä Suomen ympäristökeskuksen Järviwiki-sivustolla http://www.jarviwiki.fi/wiki/Levävahti yhdessä muiden tekemien havaintojen kanssa.

Levävahti on Teknologian tutkimuskeskus VTT:n kehittämä sovellus, joka perustuu VTT:n EnviObserver-teknologiaan. Levävahti on kehitetty yhteistyössä Suomen Ympäristökeskuksen kanssa, joka on vastannut sisällön suunnittelusta. Levävahti-hankkeesta tehtiin vuonna 2011 Itämerisitoumus Baltic Sea Action Groupille.
