About Undeleter Recover Files & Data
Scan for and recover deleted files from memory cards and internal storage on rooted* devices.
Without a jailbreak/root* access, Undeleter can only scan app caches for images. READ BELOW FOR INFO ABOUT ROOT.
For free, the app will restore all supported image file types and all types of data, including SMS, call logs and WhatsApp or Viber conversations. It will also shred and secure delete. Unlock it to recover other supported file types, remove ads and enable background scanning.

App caches can contain images that would not otherwise be discoverable: you may find photos that were shared with you on social media but you never opened, or lower quality copies of images you have now or have deleted in the past. They may also contain images that have been preloaded by your browser or other apps on your device - even images of people you don't know. They can be filtered out using "Hide extant files".
File types: Journal scanning can discover files with any conceivable extension. Essentially these files are still on your volume with their data in allocated sectors. Journal scan is only available on EXT4 and derived file systems.
Deep scan heuristically scans for and recovers the following types of files: BMP, JPEG/JPG, PNG, MNG, JNG, GIF, MP4, AVI, MKV, MP3, OGG, OGM, WAV, FLAC, AMR, MP4A, PDF, SXD, SXI, SXC, SXW, ODT, ODG, ODS, ODP, DOCX, XLSX, PPTX, ZIP, JAR, APK, EPUB.
Data scanning is available for a select number of apps, including the system phone and SMS applications. Data will be recovered in the form or HTML files for WhatsApp and Viber, as we cannot merge third-party catalogs.
Shred/secure delete: Files found on free disk areas can be erased permanently in bulk using the Shred function. You can also use the system-wide Share menu to securely erase files directly through any other app, for example by opening the gallery, selecting a number of images, pressing the Share button and selecting Secure delete.

It's very sad, that after all those Ads, and and a long waiting for the scanner to finish...it will force you to "UNLOCK THE APP". IN OTHER WORDS FORCE YOU TO PAY... It's a very good app the second I used it it was loading pictures that I thought we long gone I found pictures from when I had my first phone....and I've had a lot the only reason why I didn't give it five stars tho is because it needs to add a feature that would make it perfect and that is a option to choose what day you recover photos like a one day span two day ECT Because trying to go through over 8703 pictures was.... difficult I only wanted to find one picture but am glad I found more.

It doesn't recover anything unless its an image file and that is up for debate. All it did was list images (jpg etc) that i already had copies of. This program doesn't do anything but maybe steal your information. TLDR: Waste of time don't install!

GOOD LUCK, This app should work the same for Rooted and NONRooted phones. IT restored 371 JUNK AD'S that I clicked away FROM MONTH'S AGO! VERY DISAPPOINTED! The creator/creators should be ashamed for misleading, and providing hope that I could RECOVER ONE FILE, NOT UNHELPFUL RUBISH! UNINSTALLING IMMEDIATELY! BTW TWO THUBS DOWN!

Look, I'm no CS major, but I do know my way around technology. I could not figure out after much trial/error/research how to get a desktop undelete utility to scan my MTP phone. And yes, I tried all the suggestions in all the forums. I also tried a few other undelete apps to try to get out of paying the 5 bucks to undelete files other than pictures. This app was the thing that finally worked. Yes, you do have to root your phone, but none of the other apps that will supposedly work without rooting worked for me.
