High School Co-ops is designed to be a one-stop site for parents, students, and teachers in finding current local businesses that are eager to involve students in co-operative education placements. You will gain access to multiple businesses within your local area and obtain such necessary information as: company location and contact information, the number of available student placements at each company, participation in specialty programs such as OYAP (Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program) and SHSM (Specialist High Skills Major), possible schedules/shifts available (i.e. mornings, afternoons, weekends, full days, etc.), and pertinent information regarding on-site requirements (e.g. WHMIS training, criminal reference check,etc.
Parents/Students:
As a student, the most important aspect of a co-op placement is that you enjoy not only where you are working, but what you are doing so that you can obtain the fullest educational experience possible. Parents, we know how difficult it can be for teachers to find a co-operative education placement that interests your child. Why not take control of that by locating a co-op placement that works for all of you, thus allowing your teacher to simply secure the placement.
The price to register for the service is 9.99 plus tax for 7 day access.
Teachers
Teachers, we know that finding co-op placements for 30+ students can be time-consuming and frustrating. By joining High School Co-ops.com, it allows you to find current and up to date employers and co-ordinate placements with local businesses that have a desire to work with students in co-operative education programs.

This site acts solely as a database for organizations that are open to having high school co-op students. Students may still have to undergo the interview process in order to obtain a placement. Please utilize your child's co-op teacher to facilitate this process.
High School Co-ops does not guarantee that students will find a placement within their geographical region that meets their desired area of interest. This website serves as a directory of organizations that are willing to accept high school co-op students, and as a result, there may not be an organization in your region at this time that meets your search criteria. We are constantly seeking and searching for organizations to add to our information bank that meet each industry category.
To Teachers:
High School Co-ops was created as a database that catalogs organizations interested in having high school students participate in co-op placements.It remains the responsibility of the co-op teacher to liaise with and visit the organization to ensure the placement meets appropriate health and safety standards & school's co-op program prerequisites.
High School Co-ops does not ensure that the organization are free from workplace violence and harassment of any kind (sexual, verbal, sexual orientation etc. It is still the responsibility of the co-op teacher to liaise with and visit the organization to ensure the placement meets appropriate Ontario Human Rights Codes.
