aBacklighter (App Backlighter) for Android
It works fairly well. This is the only app I have paid for. I expect a paid app to function 100%. On my Droid X, the "Outdoor Brightness Setting" does not function properly. The screen does not get brighter, when in daylight. Also, I believe it is this app that is causing other functions, such as dialer and phone commands, to hang, start and stop and restart. This did not occur, prior to installation of this app.
Thanks .
Favorite brightness adjuster app. Should come pre-installed on phones. If you wish to improve app, I'd suggest incorporating the features of Lux that u don't already have. I also wish to have it go both dimmer and brighter than 0 and 100%. Thanks!

One morning I woke up early and found my display--set to automatic brightness--was too dim to see easily. It was truly annoying... This is a tiny app that does its job splendidly. I tried its main competitor and found it lacking. aBacklighter is easy to use and effective. I have it configured to use maximum brightness when certain apps (such as YouTube or QuickPic) are run, and low brightness most other times. It's great.
