Vodafone Broadband for Android
Don't get vodafone broadband if you can help it. The router itself is cheap and unable to deal with the average families loading. Mine has dropped out literally hundreds of times in less than a month. Pay more with someone else and get a more reliable service and a better router. The boost option is a gimmick and doesn't actually do anything.
Boring App. Nothing exciting. Be good if you was able to disconnect people from your network via the app. Currently showing I have 17 WiFi devices connected but has random names on some of them and can't tell what device it is unless I go around switching each device off one by one.
Initial setup was fine. Changed the name of my Wi-Fi and password...and now it can't connect to the router just sits there searching. Then if you uninstall and reinstall it goes through initial setup, but still hangs at searching for the router... awful app. On the flip though the Broadband is as good as BT which was fast being next to the exchange
The router has a built in VPN, but never works on the router, either via PPTP or L2TP. Having this actually working in the app would be brilliant, so I dont have to connect all my devices indivudually to a the vpn. Other than that, Vodafones service is great and cant fault it. Also the gateway has more settings than the app. Would like to see an "advanced" section in this app.
The app can be fine. It lets you do basic stuff, stuff for the non-powerusers, a section for the Powerusers amount us would be nice. Somewhere we make changes to increase the performance, like the broadcast channel or reset the router, not factory reset.
Never works always crashes and never lets me do anything changes. Just makes me offline with no control over any of the devices connected. Wish I had never gone with Vodafone. HUGE BIG REGETS
For me it keeps crashing when kicking people off the WiFi with its loading icon spinning around for ages and then it turn off all the WiFi and goes off-line.. then have to wait for it to start back up.. exactly the same for allowing them back on as well.. tried to click the report the problem with the app but that just opens a Vodafone web page with nothing on it to report a problem..
I came from talk talk who was rubbish. This is better. But it does have its moments when it seems to freeze. But other than that i have had no problems.. Easy to set up. Router is definitely better and you have more control than talk talks. And i have fiber and is still cheaper than talk talk.
Just switched from Plusnet which was the worst service I've ever had. So far happy with Vodafone. App seems ok would be nice to see more features such as vpn and connecter control
Gives excellent control over our network which we were unable to do with all the other provided Wi-Fi hubs we have used the past. It also allows for the creation of 2nd separate network with timed access for visitors, which means that we do not have to keep changing the main password details when they leave. 5*s means perfection and this app is no where near that as there is always room for improvement and development. Therefore we have given it 4*s instead.
I've use Virgin, tesco, sky and others but had Vodafone connected yesterday staff have been great for broadband, app is really useful for everything whether knowing speed or changing password etc or knowing if someone is jumping in to your WiFi uninvited. Update its has recently not been showing all connected devices while they are connected. Also an option too kick people off while they are on my Wi-Fi would be appreciated wardrivong may not be as big as it was but still going on.
Read a lot of horror stories but gave vodaphone a go because of price so far great. App is great shows everthing you need without pluging in a pc. The only difference between vodaphone and bt is the 40 pounds a month im saving with Vodaphone.
Really useful app and a nice interface so good for those who arent tech savvy. The only other thing Id say is it would be nice to have a bit more things to do via it like check speed. Deffo recommended:)
Ok for checking speed and who's connected, but not as good as made out, biggest brain dead idea so far, turn Wi-Fi off on app but can't turn it back on. Pointless feature.
Excellent App. You don't need any kind of laptop to control your broadband or router settings. Brilliant Idea. The only downside I've found is you can't get a detailed download and traffic statistics on the app itself. This would be very useful to see how much data is actually being used by my family.
It just says I'm offline even though I'm connected to the wifi. Completely pointless app.
Poor. Tells me I'm offline when I'm using wifi! Signal drops. WiFi doesn't reach as far as BT HH5. Speed is reliable but frequently freezes most notably in gmail and facebook.
First time of use and it's good. Maybe daft but I like being able to turn off the red led. Guest access looks useful also.
Still waiting 9 months for Vodafone to give me access to my online account. Absolute waste of time.
The app works fine, but the router keeps on causing 2 or 3 drop outs a night. Very annoying...
Stopped working. Worked fine then stopped. Unable to find my router. Just continues searching. Disappointing.
Really useful control over your broadband and family wifi..... but instead of being able to switch the family wifi on for a set number of hours each time, please can it have the function to set a schedule for family wifi. Be so much easier if i could just set daily on and off times for the kids wifi. Cheers
Very limited functions. The app works it is just missing too many things. Best to sign into your router via the browser
Never worked problem after problem. And like others found out the router is very basic and even the Vodafone teck guy told me to go out and get a better one.
App rubbish doesn't even open half the time so can't use it. Absolutely useless. Tried uninstalling and then reinstalled still doesn't work.
absolute rubbish app to go with a rubbish broadband service!!!!,app crashes for no reason goes off when you add or takeaway a number. when it runs out will not be using either again. and will make sure everybody I know knows this
Works well, and keeps track of all connected devices. A useful tool that is missing though would be to be able to see bandwidth usage so any heavy use devices can be identified. Or just as a diagnostic tool for monitoring bandwidth usage.
Great app great features good speed also have not had any issues paying for up to 70mbps getting 71 can't complain fast enough for PS4 Netflix 4k and other stuff no where near as bad as BT
Used for 12 months now so works, would like to see new feature developed into WiFi connections list that allow me to remove devices from network via toggle switches.
Intermittently keeps cashing on the loading screen, and the only way to stop it is to uninstall the app and try again. When it does work it's great, but this crashing is infuriating.
Great reliable broadband.. android app is easy to use, well designed, logical, fast and intuitive. You can basically manage the majority of your regular tasks or activities through it and only resort to web interface when absolutely necessary...
It would be good like so many others, to group devices then scheduled on and off for each group of devices I.e. kids and parent groups leaving the guest Wi-Fi free for what it is intended. Other than that great app.
Great app. Such a pity that the broadband is so bad. Never sign up with them.
I like the app it seems simple and easy to use, good interface and the routers also good, just a shame that the Wi-Fi signal strength isn't stronger, but that's my only downside up to now
bradband if the worst thing on the earth get beterr conection from the potato in my cupboard atleast that is stable cant handle more than 3 devices at once now stuck for 12 month ????????????
I connected my router today and speed is always constant at 80mps. Above all I'm able to get alert if some one connect onto the WiFi and I have the options to choose my frequency either 2ghz or5ghz.
The application let's you edit the basic information and settings on your network but for any advanced setups like dual frequencies etc it will require you to log into your Vodafone Router page.
I like the app but am disappointed that when i set up wifi scheduler i couldn't put wifi back on via app as my phone couldn't find the network at all untill i uninstalled then reinstalled the app and re-paired my device to router and tried to set up family time wifi and couldn't work it out, ended up turning wifi off by accident and couldn't get it back on via the app the only thing i can use is remove a device from network and put it back on. please sort this asap!
Good so far. Things I would like to see, as already mentioned, toggles or time ranges for individual devices, and permanent boosts for individual devices would also be nice.

This is a genuinely good idea app wise. It's both usable and useful. I appreciate it. It's also reliable. A few more icons for today's myriad of connected devices wouldn't go amiss. I'm finding the ones given a bit limited when modifying. The boost feature works on my device i steaming BBC iPlayer when playback freezes just after midnight. That's probably down to Vodafone Broadband itself too. I used to have that problem with another provider at the same time of day until they sorted it out.
