SIMPatic Cafés

Mobile application promotes and supports training cafés from all over the Czech Republic.

A training café is a café that employs or trains people disadvantaged due to their health (including physical and mental disabilities, mental illnesses) or social situation (e.g., parents taking care of a handicapped child, long-term unemployed). The employees work as bakers, bartenders or waiters/waitresses. They are responsible for the operation of the café within their capabilities, supported and led by work assistants where required. These jobs represent a great opportunity to learn something and later on succeed on the labor market, despite the disadvantages these people need to face.

The mobile application is called SIMPatické kavárny (Sympathetic cafés), where the first four letters stand for Support, Integration, Motivation, Purpose, according to the owner of the mobile application. Each café has a different specialization and owner, and therefore is associated with a name by which it can be found in the application. The application provides information about cafés, future events as well as directions to the café.

Training cafés face many difficulties. The aim of the mobile application is to direct regular guests to these cafés and subsequently help the café and people working or training there.
