DSLR Controller for Android
Great for controlling camera during astrophotography. I used this app for the first time while shooting this year's eclipse and couldn't be happier. The app was intuitive to use, let me control everything I needed to run the camera without touching it except to dial in manual focus. If you're planning on taking pics of anything that requires stability and you think you may need to dial in stuff while shooting, this app is invaluable.
Works with Moto G5 Plus and Canon 5DMKIII flawlessly. Just needed a Micro-USB to female USB converter cable and the default camera USB 2.0 plug. Will use it for external control during timelapse to prevent camera movement. Please add Bulb Ramping support, and this will be the holy grail of apps! Will upgrade my review to 5 stars once this is out.
It didn't work. Everyone else says it did, so tried another USB lead and it still didn't work. Rebooted phone and still no joy. So out came another USB lead, and as soon as it was plugged in, Bingo, up came the connection. Had a short play, looks good so far, plenty of uses for this tool I am sure. So if you buy it and it doesn't connect, do not give up, try different cables.
I had this app for a while now. It wasn't until I really understood that the suggested wifi TP-Link TL -MR340 wireless route can change the way you shoot Real Estate. Even with the very useful instructions, you still have to be prepared to figure things out. Like configuring the router to work with the app via a firmware update. Once this is done and you have set the camera off for the first time, when you are not even in the same room. Well, I danced a little Jig, I can tell you! Five stars from me. I can now play with the flashes without returning to the camera. What a great App ! Still using the Canon 5Dii with the Nexus 9
How do I get money back! This app just crashes. When I first launch it displays a black screen. Upon pressing a few buttons it will show live view. Then I have around 10-15 seconds to take photos before it say oops app failure. Gutted I had high expectations for this but my canon eos app does a better job!
Canon 70D and lg g5. The app keeps crashing. I have to power off my camera a few times before I can stay connected long enough to view and download my pictures. Fustrating.
This app really extends your Canon camera features. This is an app that can't be missing from any Canon camera owner. Live view, time lapse, electronic manual focus with three resolutions, live view, you name it.
This is the most amazing app for controlling my reflex via Wi-Fi or cable. It can make many things such as bracketing (focus, aperture, iso) or time-lapse. 5 stars are not enough.
Superb. I was worried I would have to mount my laptop on my shoulder to use the Canon eos app (which doesn't even come close to this marvel). Outstanding .
Have been using this for the past 1,5 years on my Android tablet, connected to my 6D and both mounted on my Ronin-M. It's the best tablet app for canon dslrs, and can easily tell that it makes up for the missing features that canon ignorantly left out from its dslr systems. Amazing app, strongly advised.
I was disappointed with this app when I first started using it. I tried it on 2 Canon cameras without success. My phone kept telling me that it could not find the camera (or if it did, it did so only briefly) and I concluded that maybe my cameras were damaged or faulty. I have since replaced my phone and was happy to discover that I can now connect to the same cameras with this app. It works faultlessly and establishes communication with the camera instantly. The old phone was an expensive Motorola (Droid Turbo 2) and since replacing it with a Google Pixel XL I now realise how inferior the Motorola is in many ways. Thank you Chainfire for creating a really good app and apologies for the criticisms I may have previously uttered under my breath...
Bought this app when it was a beta version. Worked perfect at the start but now keeps crashing. Contacted the developers but they've just ignored me. Trying to use with eos550 and Moto g4 :-(
Please help, I have connected my canon eos 70D to my phone using wi-fi, but the app says that it could not find a compatible camera. Is there anything i could do to fix this?
I'm using it with my 7D Mark II and it works very well. I usually hook the mobile device to my tripod, connects the camera and starts the app. Then I will cast the screen to a television, and I could see the image in a larger display. As long as I shoot in landscape orientation everything is perfect. But, the time I put the camera in portrait orientation, the app fills the scene horizontally and I need to rotate the mobile to see it properly (still with all on-screen controls in a horizontal orientation). Even if I could manage the mobile display somehow, I cannot rotate the TV every time I change the orientation! The app needs a thoughtful implementation in the portrait mode. As it will be most useful in a studio environment and most of the time we shoot in portrait orientation, the purpose is not served if it is useless in portrait mode. Please look into it and do something about it. Thank you.
Sic app for your DSLR camera Canon T3i if you have that camera it works great for me but you have to have the right cord the cord that came with your camera or you can pick one up on Amazon I bought one for seven bucks get
Doesn't work with EOS 500D or 60D using Sony xperia e5 or Vodafone ultra 6 useless app
This app is essential part of my stydio shooting environment. I am using it for several years with different cameras and different tablets and never had any serious problems with it. It works much faster with USB connection although WiFi works just fine as well.
Working perfect on z1 compact and canon 1200D and now also working on Galaxy S7 edge. But is not working on Galaxy Note 8.
The timelaps doesnt work, connection failiure on second shot.Focusing problems.I have cannon 60D,connecting via host usb cable to galaxy S6.
Ever since loading the 2017 1.05 update the app will not allow playback on my Android devices. On playback the app crashes and only a few seconds of the video will play. I've reported to issue several times to the developer but no response. Need to revert back to the 1.02 version! Update: OK, Chainfire fixed the problem with the new version 1.06. Now I am back in business!!!
A very good on the go app but the display on the mobile/tab lags by fraction of seconds when the camera is moved.
Great app but it would be better if you could open pics saved to the app gallery in Lightroom. Anyone know a workaround?
Eddig hibatlanul mukodik. Elegedett vagyok. A vegleges verziot is megfogom venni. Bizom benne hogy abban lesz mukodo WIFI kapcsolat a geppel. Canon 6D working perfectly. BEST APP 2017
Works well with my 7D and 5D M3. I using a Nexus 7 and good quality Lindy cables. Love using this for night photography. It the best money ever spent on an app. ☺
Can't get this to work with my Sony Xperia xz premium and my canon T2i
My pristine Canon 24-70mm 2.8 L got the aperture stuck at 22 using this app. Who is paying for service? Me or the app owners? I guess me.
1st time working good but after naver connect to my canon eos 6d
It crashes on my phone and says system UI has stopped
Cracking app for sharing images straight off the camera!
It does not work with Galaxy Tab S3 connected to Canon Mark ii
Thank you for an absolutely amazing app!! Used it to control my EOS 60D during the 8/21 eclipse and produced some amazing results! Thank you thank you thank you!
Awesome app..using it for my 700d with my Huawei tab and Samsung phone, really a must have app if you have a Canon DSLR..
Makes my 5D3 to a perfect raw camera. I use it as external monitor with focus peaking. Great!
Great app. for Canon. Write one for Fuji X-T2 and I would buy that too
Absolutely a must have for people like me!
Doesn't connect to EOS 5D mark 2
Great app! Works great with my Google Pixel and 5d Mark III
Works well, easy to use. Pixel xl with usb cable to 60d
This has been, and still is the best app to control a Canon DSLR

Just used this for the first time today with a Motorola Xoom and Canon 5D MKII and was very impressed. My main intent was to be able to change exposure times via usb rather than through the camera itself to get a 9 shot HDR (Canon limits to 3 shot AEB). Not only could I take the 9 shots I wanted but several more if needed while changing the overall range through the DSLR Controller HDR interface rather than the camera itself. UPDATE: 2017 years later this has proven to be the best app i've ever owned. Thanks Chainfire!
