Esta aplicación es una herramienta para ayudar a mejorar la adherencia al tratamiento en enfermos de EPOC. Entre sus funciones incluye la posibilidad de consultar cuál es el tratamiento que tiene que seguir, con manuales de usuario de los inhaladores que tiene que usar, alarmas de recordatorio de las horas en las que tiene que tomar la medicación y envío de SMS al cuidador, explicación sobre la medicación de rescate, consejos sobre ejercicios de fisioterapia respiratoria y botones de acceso rápido al teléfono de emergencias y al teléfono del cuidador.

La aplicación intenta aumentar la implicación del personal sanitario, el enfermo y el cuidador en el seguimiento del tratamiento y es muy recomendable para conseguir los objetivos que sea el personal sanitario quien haga la instalación de la aplicación y mantenga la configuración de la medicación desde la zona reservada al personal sanitario, protegida mediante una contraseña que se define durante la instalación de la aplicación.

La aplicación almacena información personal y sanitaria sobre el paciente que no será enviada a ningún otro dispositivo ni compartida con ninguna parte externa. Solo el propio paciente y el personal médico que conozca la contraseña puede acceder a esa información. La información está guardada en una base de datos cifrada para protegerla de accesos no permitidos.

La aplicación contempla el envío de SMS al cuidador del paciente para que ayude a mejorar la adherencia al tratamiento. El envío de SMS puede originar cargos adicionales en la factura del teléfono dependiendo del tipo de contrato. La aplicación pedirá permiso al usuario para enviar los SMS. El usuario puede anular el permiso en cualquier momento desde los ajustes de las aplicaciones de Android y también puede activar y desactivar el envío de mensajes desde dentro de la aplicación.

La aplicación ha sido desarrollada en el marco del Reto Salud 2016 de la Junta de Andalucía (España). La aplicación ha sido desarrollada por estudiantes de los grados de Ingeniería de la Salud y de Ingeniería del Software de la E.T.S.I. Informática de la Universidad de Málaga (España) bajo la dirección de profesores de la citada Escuela y bajo la dirección de personal sanitario del SAS. The application stores personal and medical information about the patient who will not be sent to any other device or shared with any outside party. Only the patient and medical staff themselves who knows the password can access that information. The information is stored in a database encrypted to protect it from undesired access.

The application contemplates sending SMS patient caregiver to help improve adherence to treatment. The SMS may result in additional charges on your phone bill depending on the type of contract. The application will ask user permission to send SMS. The user can override permission at any time from the settings Android applications and can also enable and disable sending messages from within the application.

The application has been developed under the Health Challenge 2016 of the Government of Andalusia (Spain). The application has been developed by students in grades Health Engineering and Software Engineering E.T.S.I. Informatics, University of Malaga (Spain) under the direction of teachers that school under the direction of health personnel in the SAS.
