Comic Time Reader for Android
Love the app, but I'd like to see a classic viewing mode for when I'm reading comics with non traditional panels. Normally, I would just use another viewer, but since this one caches entire files, that would be a huge space waster. Give us that, and I'll give you ALL the stars. Thank you for the wonderful app.
The panel reading is decent but seems to get it wrong a lot more than e.g. Kindle; e.g. sometimes there's no way to see part of a speech bubble without turning off panel mode and seeing the whole page. Also there are lots of weird things popping up in the UI corners that I can't figure out. Plus there are a lot of annoying full screen ads whenever you open or leave a comic.
It is sad to see such a great potential faded. Among countless apps i tried there is no app to support your own comics on panel view and yet you are not updating this app. Eventhough its interface is pretty bad and options are scarce, it is still the best comic reader for a phone by far
Neat reliable comic reader with a good guided view mode. I do wish the library has a dark mode and the tiles can be bigger for each comic volume and arranged much tighter. All that white space seems a waste.
Not working. Was told by a friend to check this app out cause of its panel-by-panel detection, it could only be me or maybe cause i uploaded too many at a time but the detection is hit or miss, mostly miss. Please help me fix the problem. Thanks
Panel by panel is really good, not yet perfect. Sometime skips diagonal panels, and reads some panels in the wrong order. Also tweaking the transparency of the top buttons could be great or at least the duration they are on.
I love this app, the panel mode is perfect for reading on my phone. The only gripe I have right now is that there is no way to remove ads by buying the app.
The only .cbr reader with panel view. Sadly it's no longer developed for Android, which means we're stuck with buggy border recognition, buggy button to select whole page view, screen locked on, no night mode, and some comics that just won't open without reason.
Just one suggestion though. It would be even better if one is allowed to browse through the panels by using the volume control keys. But overall a very nice experience.
As the ACR developer, I know how hard it is to develop a nice comic reader, but this app is really promising and has some amazing features. Keep going on!
This is the only app I've found that has a guided view mode for drm free comic files. Unlike marvel and other companies' guided views, it uses an algorithm to detect panels. So while its not always perfect its about the only way to get guided view on your e-comics without paying money to the big guys and using their app. And if guided view doesn't work right for some reason, it can also display full pages like other normal comic viewers. Does what they do and so much more.
Works great! Not perfect, but its the only app that can auto-zoom DRM-free comics. Awesome! Can you add an option to make a comic as read without having to scroll through the whole thing?
Really nice App, I like the guided view, although it is not a hundred percent accurat, but it's still pretty good considering scanning only takes a short time. But please give us the option to buy the App to get rid of ads
It does what it's suppose to. Has a great panel view, so reading in a cell phone is awesome with this app. Thnx for this great app. It would be great if the developers can add preview section at the bottom so people can browse back and forth.
Comic Time is great for a comfortable comic book reading experience. It not only scans the comics panel wise, but also stores them in its library instead of creating a shortcut for the file. Since the app scans all comics, it lets you read in either page by page mode or panel by panel mode. The only drawback according to me are that the app does not read pdf files. It can only read .cbz or .cbr files. The panel scanning method is effecient in most cases, only exceptions are the non conventional panels.
I had tried this app and so helpful but sometimes when meet strange panel this app didnt recognize it and show the whole page
I use a large sd card with my Samsung 5 modal, as I like to keep a library with choice/replay value. This app seems to offer good things, but after some time and fiddling, the content search is failing to notice any other locations besides the device's native root directory. Which is quite a shame, really !
This is by far the best comic reader out there, especially for manga as the panels are more easily detected. The only thing I'd like is when you change pages two icons appear in both top corners, I'd like to turn them off so I can read uninterrupted, apart from that though this app is perfection.
Better pannel recognition would be nice, but this app is killer good. Also encountered some issues while adding some big comics, gave 'em 2 or 3 tries before finally completing the process.
Please let us pay for ads to be disabled! Thats all that is stopping it from 5 stars!
After the files have been extracted and analysed is it safe to delete the them?
Great Job Dev. Guided View is your USP. Suggestions : 1) A seek bar which can navigate through the comic is must.. There is already a progress bar but Dev make it so that we can use it to scroll the comic pages. 2) A option to jump to page like we see in other readers. Also I am ready to pay for removal of ads. Also I am ready to help in beta testing or promotion of this app. Just because this app is awesome
I like the panel view, but the toggle between it and the full page view seems to work on a per page basis: after going full page, turning the page brings it back to panel view. It's very tiring if you want to go back or ahead to a specific page when rereading. Also, the library view should "wrap" rather than scrolling to the right to see the other files, specially on a tablet.
Had a couple of comic book readers and all of them frustrated me. So far, so very good for this 1.
Someone can tell me how to disable annoying pop up adverts that seem to only launch when I'm using the app? Is there a paid version, maybe including proper settings menu and brief instructions guide? Also needs ability to import folders
best cbr viewer! but your icon is kinda outdated
This is a great bloody app for comics. I downloaded it to hype myself for the new Deadpool movie and now just after I returned from watching it. I instantly wanna go back to this app and read more deadpool. Don't mind giving a five star :D
It needs more options, better detection algorithm, and stability.
There doesn't seem to be an option to switch off the page context bubble that pops up while going from one panel to the next. It takes up valuable space and is a terrible distraction. Why can't it be disabled? The app would be incredible then. Thanks
I've been using this reader exclusively since I discovered it and I love it but there are some things that can be improved... 1. The Library view can use some cleaning up. 2. The panel-by-panel navigation is wonderful but it is also hit or miss (especially with modern comics). It would be nice to have the option to "lock" in the full-page view. As of now, the full-screen option is removed once you change the page... 3. Because of the issues regarding the panel-by-panel advancing noted above, "movie-mode" is unusable. It is very easy to skip panels accidentally and never know it if you aren't paying attention to the screen icon at the top right of the screen. 4. It might be a good idea to implement a maximum zoom ratio...filling the screen with a small panel blows things up to an unattractive amount. 5. Another suggestion: transitions between panels could be user-defined...swipes, fades, panel drops, page turns, etc... I have a couple of more suggestions but I'm running out of space here...keep up the good work and thank you!
Thank you for fixing my previous problem and I love this app again.
This is the best one I've seen so far. Panels works great all the times, this is the usp of this app.. Hats off to developers.. I've spend hours to create panels in Photoshop, and this app does the trick in seconds.. Loved it
Can't get it to read the comics I've copied to my SD card, so it's worthless to me. Comic Time > Add Comic button > Home > Storage > extSdCard > Comics (previously created folder via PC) Nothing...
This is the only comic reader I've found after comixology to have guided view feature. It almost works perfectly. Hope to see more amazing features and a cleaner UI. This app deserves more popularity.
Nice idea but the execution can be vastly improved: panels aren't correctly identified if something protrudes a tiny bit out of them. No support for "folders of jpg/etc." pure-image files. Controls are never explained and confusing at first. Irritating zoom & pan controls. No "jump to page x" option (or hidden very well).
Downloaded just for the awesome logo! Will update this review when I actually try the app.
But doesn't always get it right, and can be confusing. I would prefer if the panel detection worked more like a zoom/scroll helper, so it would snap to the panel as you move around.
I found this to be a pretty good reader. However, whenever I tried to rename a collection, it disappeared from the library when I hit 'rename'. Lacking in organisation due to absence of tags, multiselect, etc. Also there is no option to clear recents. So overall, a good reader but not a good manager.
It's need a better organization, sometimes it doesn't show panel by panel but i can't do it manually. What I wanted to say is when i manually select panel by panel it needs like when you crop your pictures

Download your comics, maybe fight with the panels a little, and enjoy. The panel reader works, but it has some issues. It is mostly intuitive, and it's great to have a way to read comics on the go. Definitely worth your time if you are reading mobile comics.
