The app is ok. It could do with some refinements. Being able to rename and control individual sockets on the 4-way gang would be great. Some widgets would also be great. Ideally, I'm looking to run a wall mounted tablet with a dashboard so i can use the MiHome devices i have (sockets/light switches/appliance relay) and the Hive heating system from a centralised location.

Fed up with the app, if your at home and turn the plug on manually,it doesn't show on your phone,and sometimes when you use phone to turn an object on,it doesn't switch on,so disappointed with it

This is not stable thing don't turn on or won't turn off - app doesn't seem to even know if the gateway is alive, I get a green steady light with an intermittent red flash and then every 10 seconds the green light goes off for 1 second then comes back and repeats the cycle I have lost any confidence in this product line

System keep telling me it registered to another account & can't reset it

Garbage compared to IOS version sensors very unreliable

Annoying startup sounds. Looks nothing like the app advertised on the web site. Where are mi routines for example? And surely a one event timer would make sense. I want to turn my lights off at 11 for example, but you have to set an on time too! Rubbish!

What a shame! I installed the app just to hear the hilariously terrible sound people are talking about... Unfortunately without a Energenie Router PSK code i cannot get past the login :-( I shall have to leave this adventure for another day!

Startup sound/screen incredibly annoying, Where are the widgets? Returning 4 way adapter since its individual sockets should be individually configured with labels and ability to group. I should also be able to pair and configure remote(s) to work with gateway (groups, etc) rather than the devices.

Splash screen makes start up is very slow, and plays a stupid tune. I just want the app to start ASAP and take me to my device. I don't need a startup screen and tune.

Brought a motion sensor as a cheap security option,but has been frustrating. Setup is easy but scheduling doesn't seem to work. I set the hours for alerts to only occur when outside the house like when we're at work, but still getting notifications when at home. The notifications are silent so not very useful if you do not keep checking your phone. Yes I can set my lights to come on when motion but that won't scare off a burglar. The app only gives one option for schedule unlike the web browser so can't do a day setting and a different night setting. Switching off notifications does nothing, still get them

Annoying splash screen and recurrent connection errors due to poor design decisions on the server side make this and the system in general hard to recommend

The splash screen intro takes too long. We don't need a flashy splash intro, I'd sacrifice that for performance & functionality as a start. It's essential. Also it crashes and closes frequently. Please just make us a solid app that atleast works

I've been using this for a couple of days now and there are a few annoying bugs. The app doesn't show the true state of remote switches after they have been changed by a timer command, and sometimes they are shown as neither on nor off! Also it's really annoying that the individual states of switches within a group aren't shown, only the count (e.g. 1/3) - surely this would be a trivial addition to the code? I was hoping to use this for a home - wide system, but at the moment it just isn't up to it.

I like the app. It's easy to use. It could do without the startup for me. I feel this waste time getting I to the app. What I do find frustrating however is the constant crashing!

1. Firstly the startup sound it pants not needed and startup screen. 2. Bought 3 4-way adapter and peared them. Connect OK but does not show afterwards which socket is active, does not stay on green saying in. 3. There is no schedule on the 4way adapters for each plug this would have been a PLUD indeed but none available. 4. Can't delete a gateway from the app 5. Get server not found occasionally. 6. The plus adapters don't even come with remote control not supported, useless if anyone at home just need to switch on or off

As a software developer myself I would be embarrassed to release this third class piece of software. There does not seem to be anyway of doing the simplest of things, such as deleting a gateway because the first hub stopped working and a replacement was sent. Utterly third class. There needs to be much more improvement before this can start to make a challenge, but get the impression this whole company was set up not with providing a service in mind, but with making a quick buck as quickly as possible.

avoid this brand and look for a company that can produce working software. this crashes on every use. also had an offensive startup sound

Just doesn't work now. I needed to turn security cameras on and off but I just keep getting connection failed now. Even after restarting home hub 5 & powering off & on the mobile hub. Product will promptly be returned to Amazon.

The gateway stopped working after a week of light usage..total dead..app notifications sometimes work sometimes not..what a cheap piece of rubbish..returning to store

Software very immature, will not let you rename "Socket 1" "Socket 2" etc on a 4 gang switch, this is basic stuff and should be available in the app , you can't expect people to remember what is on which socket when away from home.No timers on 4 Gang sockets either so beware if you are buying

Frequent crashes and a hugely annoying start up sound you can't turn off.

The start up tone is annoying and no setting option to switch it off. The plugs constantly fail to turn on or off. The app says the opposite to what the actual state of the plug is. A lot of bugs that really need to be fixed.

The into isn't a problem at all, the main thing you need to work on is the crashing after spending a lot of money on your products which are good. The build quality looks good yet to be able to tell you life time as have only just installed but the app crashing makes it very annoying. This should be an easy fix for you guys and it shouldn't be happening now if this doesn't get fixed then it's going to have to be a different product for me I'm afraid and I will be re turning them. Please get this sorted

Please lose the startup sound! It means the app is unusable when someone's asleep!

Random notifications that devices are switched on, when they are not. And why the sound when the app opens? Get rid

Product Does Not Work - Do NOT buy

+1 for the annoying jingle that doesn't even complete. +1 for the status of the lights.. Having it just grey is not very informative. I have 2 light switches. The 1st paired one works fine. The 2nd paired one always throws an error when you try to switch 1&2 on/ in close succession. I've deleted both devices and started again, this time the 2nd device paired 1st. This device now works OK, the 2nd throws an error. The timer is ropey but the IFTTT compatability does give it a bit more reliability.

Great smart home app

Hooray, startup sound has been removed. Boo, ludicrous startup animation still there. Utterly pointless waste of user's time. App seems flaky and poorly written and, even on a phone with 4Gb RAM and cleared cache has to restart if you switch task. Energenie gateway system is very good but the App is the weak link. Pity.

App does not report if connection has been lost to the gateway. So user is unaware that their actions are not taking effect. Starting to lose confidence in this setup.

I'd really like to say this system is improving. Although Customer Service keep promising NEW products and more appropriate functionality things don't seem to be moving - even at a snail pace. Come on, get your act together before it's too late!

This app is slowly improving. The startup tone has gone but it still needs to axe the startup screen and start faster.

...it would be better if you axed the silly noise on startup. Startup sounds are against Android rules and this is the only app I've used that has it. Also most programs stopped that, after Windows 95

Successfully adds your sockets to groups and controls them etc. But they really need to get rid of the stupid jingle every time you open the app. It would also be great if they could make a simple widget for your home screen to simply turn off a group.

I have an MI e27 8 watt white smart bulb. I tried to operate it with this app but it does not show the devise at all.

Would be good to be able to name individual sockets on a four way extension rather than having to remember what's in each socket.
