About QuietPlaces
** WARNING: This is an EXPERIMENTAL app still in beta testing!! **
This app lets you define QuietPlaces - geographical zones (circles) where your phone is automatically silenced.
This app is experimental and under development. Do NOT use this app if having your phone silenced unexpectedly would be a problem for you.
** Features **
You can manually place QuietPlaces on a map, and the app can automatically create and enforce QuietPlaces based on categories you choose such as a movie theater, place of worship, library, hospital, etc.
By default the app will not automatically place any QuietPlace zones. Go to Settings and check any of the place categories you want. It works best if you only select a few categories at a time.
You can convert any automatically added place to a permanent one by moving or resizing it. To move a place, hold down on the marker then drag it.
**Privacy**
This app does not upload any personal identifying information. Aside from anonymous location-based searches to the Google Places and Maps APIs, all data is kept local to the device.
** About **
This app was a class project for Dr. Christine Julien's Mobile Computing class in the Software Engineering master's program at the University of Texas at Austin.
** License and Source Code **
This app is open source and licensed under the Apache 2.0 free software license. See the project page for more details and source code.
