First Assessment Screening

The First Assessment Screening Tools (FAST) Application is intended for front line providers of shelter and justice services who help women reporting intimate partner violence. FAST questions predict low, medium, and high risk for long term symptoms of Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome (PTSD) for the woman and sustained behavioral problems for her children; return to the abuser, and return to the shelter.

FAST are intended to be administered by a trained provider who offers safety information and guided referral to community services.

FAST requires 5 minutes to administer and provides a record of risk.

FAST research evidence is provided with the application.

FAST are available in English and Spanish.
