What permissions does this application need and why?

Read your text messages (SMS or MMS): The app needs to read your text messages in order to look for text messages that you haven't looked at yet.

Receive text messages (SMS): If you want to reset the notification timer when you receive a new text message, the application needs to know when the phone receives a new text message.

Read your contacts: The application needs this permission in order to figure out which calls you have already missed.

Read phone status and identity: If you want to reset the notification timer when you miss a call, the application needs to know when you've missed a call.
