Opt IN Study for Android
So many UX issues with the app. No barcode scanner, only a 1/4 of the index that myfitnesspal has. Cant view the day before's profile, you can only add to it. Unless you eat the same 5 things everyday, this app is frustrating to log food into. Makes me not even want to do it because its a hassle.
I think the opt-in program has helped me a lot. But right now I am reviewing the app, and I have to give a negative rating for it. The stats charting does not match what I enter into my phone, even though the charts on the "Me" tab do work properly and I think the correct information is being sent to my coach, though I'm not sure. I have no way to verify whether edits that I make to a previous day's food are saved correctly. Also, the food search is about as bad as I can imagine.
This app works poorly. Also the food database is lacking in content. Update 6-2-14 After an update the charting worked but as of today it again stinks. 6-3-14 The stat charts are functioning again. The food database still stinks. This application does not work at all. The database is very poor. I am quitting the program. I do not know. what the grant amount for this study is, but whatever the amount it has not been used effectively. I am very disappointed what the entire experience.

I couldn't use this app because the people in charge of the study waited until my doctor, my friends, and I had completed all the paperwork (including a 14 page survey!) to tell me I didn't qualify. It could have easily been covered in the Orientation meeting, but wasn't. If you are considering this study, be prepared to have your time wasted.
