shouldn't have a phone. Hmmm... I wonder why a messaging app would ever want access to contact information? It's a friggin' mystery. Holy crap some people are beyond stupid! Anyway nice app CMU.

Worked great for 3 messages. Then device gave up sending messages: gives a '500 internal server error'. Update: thank you for your very fast response to error my message. That seems to have fixed it. Gets 5* from me because it's one of the few such apps that don't collect or share contact data

It's not safe!!! Read the permissions B4 U dl'd this app. It requires access to your personal info and can read & write contact info. Have you "ever" read your app's permissions??? Smartphones are non-secure devices!!! :^

This app is great, so easy it can bring crypto to computer illiterate people (the kind that can barely operate a Mac) and the key slinging process is straightforward. However... on my Galaxy S5 SM-G900M I had to clear all my data before getting it to work, as the app would force stop as soon as I opened it. As a result, this app for now requires backing up often, which can only be done with a rooted phone, which means a huge security hole must be opened in order to close the hole of insecure messaging.

Its not as rough as other apps. I am not sure if there's another way to send images besides going into my gallery first, because id like to send it right from the app. Also not sure how to save the image. Other than that, awesome!

Update: The issue I had is resolved. looks like a good app and works well with text; however, I'm unable to save files - keeps trying to save to the 'Pictures' folder which it can't. The program needs to provide the ability for the user to define where to store files. I suspect it would then get 5 stars. Update: Files are saved correctly.

If what I read from several sites is correct! This encryption is the bomb if if if it's legit. Who knows

Unique key for each recipient, just like computer email encryption that relies on public key exchange. Love it, just wish I could get more of my peeps to install it.

This app does exactly what I need, and is cross platform. I like design of TextSecure a little better in that it changes keys with every message, but it isn't cross platform yet, and I have a lot of contacts that use iOS. Thanks for writing this excellent app! I wish there was some way I could be sure there is not a backdoor for NSA/FBI/DOJ/DEA/ICE/CIA/DHS. Making the code public would address that, I think.

Has bugs with attachments, Android didn't import IOS contact, did import between Androids. messages work well. Potential risk if using a man in the middle server to exchange and create keys?

Been searching forever for all these features in one app with the simplicity of setup this offers. Love not having to be physically near the other person to exchange public keys. Only feature I wish was integration with SMS so I could back up the encrypted texts.
