Carat for Android
Good
My J-score has been stuck on N/A for weeks now
Carat worked for one day. This app is a joke.
Excellent app. Extremely useful and easy to navigate. Takes patience to get your statistics, but it's worthwhile in the end!
J score is blank after weeks of usage.
You have to wait about a week and then you gets stats on which app are depleting you battery. It paints a very interesting picture. Open it once or twice a day to upload battery stats.
It is really informative. Helps me find battery hogs.
I like it
loved Carat
I love it because it saves my battery life.
Had this for 2 years. Tried to root cause my battery consumption issues. Never succeeded. Installed another tool within 1 day found a runaway app.
Since the latest update I can't even open the app, "unfortunately, carat has stopped working" every time UPDATE: thanks for replying, it's working so far, I'll up the score in a few days if it keeps up. I really love the app, good work
Working now. Thanks. Will review again later.
Answer questions about my personality and mood? Right now, "irritated" comes to mind.
Definitely comes in handy for figuring out power splurges and things of that nature.
A big thank you to the Helsinki University for making such a great free app available.
loved Carat
Crashes. Fully updated stock ROM.
It takes a few days to accumulate enough info about device but info helpful and worth waiting for
I have been using Carat for a while. I like that when I change my ROM gives me a different J-score, that way I could compare the battery performance across them. 87 j-score right now.
The developers have added in static alerts based on the data submitted to them from other Caret users. These are entirely based on aggregated data, so your results might vary, but at least it gives you a starting point. After about 7-10 days this app starts producing reports based on the accumulated data from YOUR device that are spot on about which apps are killing your battery. Its not instant gratification because the app is trying to be extremely accurate about the impacts of each app over a long term.
No idea what to do with the .Just some static page with fixed information . waste effort
Its working
Bakwas app
Interface needs improvement but the data helps in screening bad apps. Use this with Greenify to make a difference.
Aside from the adware hidden inside and no way to refresh it's OK.
Suddenly asks for a slew of new permissions with no explanation. Uninstalled.

Great! I like the new updated UI
I've been running carat for 3 weeks, regularly opening the app at least 3 times a day to make sure my samples get submitted and have never been given any recommendations or had a J-Score. I have no idea if it's working or if I'm just wasting my time. If this is normal that's completely fine, but please don't tell users that they should see information in a week or so if it could take a month. Just going to upset users who, in turn, will leave bad reviews.
Needs to be more proactive in helping the user. Geez! Loads of data is collected & used...now how about actually making some progress in practicality. It's supposed to be a two way street.
Fit to add on control-tools than leaving @ feedback & directions alone!
After 1—2 weeks my battery performance increased huge. When I removed 2-3 apps with lots of bugs.
Have installed this three separate times on two distinctly different tablets, making sure it was running for a minimum of three weeks, and never have seen a "J Score". Without that, and its context within the other app's functions, the other features of the app can be handled via different, less obtrusive apps...rendering Carat pretty much useless.
Did you forget to filter your own app from the results in the update? Yeah! "OOPS!". While its been updated frequently and my battery life dropped and Im uninstalling things on your advice and find your YOU'RE the culprit! Over 45 MILLION samples that didn't include Carrat and only some 300 that do, and YOU were the hog! I almost uninstalled Better Battery Stats over it and your app is way the hell worse killing over a half-hour of my battery by your own (pretty specific) estimaion? For what? Why?
Sometimes, it has thousands of samples to submit and it can't submit them in the background. Even worse, you can't just leave your Android there and go off doing something else - when you you go off somewhere else and the screen turns off, it stops submitting samples. So you're stuck there babysitting the app and unable to do anything else with your phone as it submits samples.
Running for almost a month and no change in battery life hours and n/a on j score
Zero overlap between apps carat reports as hogs and what Android battery usage reports
Gives some good hints about which apps are resource - hungry. Uploading of readings is agonisingly slow though
