MyShake for Android
It help us
Hate notification so uninstalled - way to go development team good job
Good
Great idea!
Battery hog
I love you. But it uses way too much battery...
cant detect my location...
Easy community science!
Thx you-!!! Please don't stop with the R&D-!!!! Appreciate this app -!
It really helped me while I was in Bodrum
Has significant delay or sometimes totally missed to show the earthquakes in my location!
Ive been havin since came out notice quakes gettin closer and closer ..STocktown CA.
Terrible drain on my battery. I have to keep turning it off.
i get notirications, but when i click on them it takes me to a broken map that shows only my location and doesn't respond to any touches. please fix for more stars.
Please allow active use while being charged. For battery saving, suspend app...
I'm in the Midwest (MN) and even though earthquakes aren't that much of a threat here—even though we do have the Great Lakes tectonic zone— I'll contribute to the scientific community anyway I can, especially with a president that doesn't care about science.
Used it for 2 or 3 weeks. The battery was draining a lot. It reached levels of 38% or more. Please, make it less battery consuming!
Would be 5 star if had a setting for units. I don't speak kilometers. No clue what 6,000 kilometers is distance wise. Could be Alaska, China or the moon...
An innovative crowdsensing app which grows in value with every installation. It can be draining at times to your battery, but offers a battery saver mode which greatly reduces battery use. You should install this app.
You need to update. Please add more thing like alarm if earthquake starting and location were are you from us or China or ph or german we need a map where are we live sorry im not good in english but i try my best to understand meTy.
Damn great science/magic. You'll should make it so that you can choose when to start monitoring such as hit the home button twice (or something) or have a slide down on the top where I can hit it to say "begin monitoring", etc.
Fair warning: This app takes a large amount of battery life. I rarely open the app and it consumes around 15% of my charge a day. I certainly admire the premise and the accuracy when comparing to usgs data. Well done.
Sensitivity is not very good. I have another app that does the same as this, with just a few more bells and whistles which makes it more informitive and it appears to be more accurate. Keep up the good work you're heading in the right direction. Remember using the system in the United states should be a choice not a manditory option. Miles to meters are only relevant when it comes to scientist who work to gether world wide and are on the same page. Me I can use both systems. Not everyone really cares it's what you know, if you can picture a miles distance by sight then that's what you do. I suggest you add a switch that gives the option of metric measurements or taditional measurements. Also add a radius slide bar so users can choose how much area they want monitor.
Easy to use, informative and seems to work well
Very informative!
Very interesting, needs "when charging only" setting. Also, needs a way to keep running without the notification constantly on.
Just Installed last night, after finding out about the project. Great idea! However, i noticed some issues apready. The battery consumption is substantial, probably because of two things: high GPS module activity, and keeping the device out of sleep mode. Is the app constantly querying the location? My indicator is always on. Updating location only in case of detected/pushed event, or from time to time might help. Also an option to monitor only when charging would be great as most users charge overnight.
It would be good if you could limit sensor activity based on power setting. Activate while charging, off at battery level below a user defined threshold. I'm not keen on Apps I can't control via tasker.
The app shows a colored icon in the notifications bar. This is not permissible per Android policy! It is very distracting and needlessly takes up space. Uninstalled!
Battery consumption is better with 2.0, but now there's a persistent notification of running in foreground even though notification settings are unchecked. I'm sure it will get worked out.
Great idea! Please note that older people are interested in seismology but they don't have such good eyesight. Please use a slightly bigger minimum font. Landscape more would be good, too.
I was awakened by an earthquake recently, but the app didn't noticed it. It surely had a magnitude greater than 3 at my place. But the idea is good.
Too little info for users. Wouldn't kill anyone to display the event time in the map popups.
I can't get rid of the annoying notification icon at the top left of my phone
Interferes with my VPN and keeps it from reconnecting like it should.
Pretty interesting app, you can look at activity around the world for last 7 days. It's not super draining on your battery. Best of all, it helps scientists by giving them a bunch more data to work with.
It would be an improvement if you could pick more distances in the settings menu. To be more specific, I would like to have somewhere 350 to 500 km radius for the app to notify me about the earthquakes
I read in the paper about major aftershocks in the Solomon Islands in the last few days but there's no indication on this app of anything similar. It begs the question: what is this app really doing?
A recent update seems to have added an uncloseable "App In Foreground" alert on the top of my screen, unless I enable "battery saving mode".
