Princesses Learn Sight Words exposes children to high frequency words in English. Sight words provide an excellent base for reading at an early age. They are often called sight words because some of them can’t be sounded out, and need to be learned by sight.
The sight words are used in a fun context, through stories, games and songs.
Each book features sight words from the Dolch list. The 1st book, Snow White, is free. It comes with all Pre-Primer sight words. Other books are available for purchase within the app: Cinderella comes with Kindergarten sight words, Sleeping Beauty comes with 1st grade sight words. Once you purchase a book, you can view it on different devices, as long as you use the same account. You are charged only once.
What makes Princesses Learn Sight Words different?

-Each story will make you discover new sight words, integrated in timeless tales. The stories are told by professional narrators
-Enjoy classical music by Tchaikovsky (Swan Lake, Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty)
-Practice spelling the sight words featured on each page with the help of the Princess icon on the bottom of the page

-Play: Games allow you to play and recognize sight words
-Memory: Find the 2 matching cards. When you match the cards, you hear the word
-Bingo: Listen to the word, and find the right card.
-Stickers: Find the right location for each sight word.
-Color: Learn to spell the color names while coloring an image.
-Sing: A song to make spelling fun. Tap on the musical notes to hear parts of the song.
New stories and new sight words are added on a regular basis. Open the app to see which new story is added to the Princess Library.

As soon as you open the app, it gives the child an opportunity to buy books. That is ridiculous. Also you have to constantly touch the screen to keep the auto going. Otherwise, it'll pause until you unlock the screen again.

Already bought the other stories on my Gmail account the tablet was factory reset and now I can't get back the stories it tell me to buy again

The reading function doesn't stop to point out the sight words for the child to say or choose from a few words. It just read to them. The sing along didn't show the words as it sang. And the flashcards were all uppercase. My child will not benefit from this flawed "learning aid".

This is very cute. I hope your upcoming stories feature a more multicultural cast. Some princesses of color would be greatly appreciated. I see the program is available in different languages but the princesses are all the same complexion.

Love the music and audio. The graphics we're darling. The games were wonderful. I just wish there was a writing portion. The educational value of the songs , reading, and coloring was very poor. There needs to be more clarity of what the words are and which ones are being read aloud. The memory game needs to repeat the word every time they turn the card,not just when they find the match. The pause is the play button so that needs to be fixed. 5 stars of this was all taken care of.
