Book Butler for Android
I have the samsung Galaxy S2 and it does what I want except download a list of books i have on a csv file. I would love to use the bulk scan if it would let me scan. I have restarted my phone three times even updated the app and it still says it has trouble connecting to the camera. If i can get this to scan i can really go to town on cataloging my childrens books at school inatead of manualy adding in each book.
There are no providers in the settings and no way to add them. Also cannot enable automatic updates. So I can't easily add any book.
It is useful app for readers
Tried several times to scan barcode. Kept prompting about my battery being under 16% then asking if I'd like to continue. Selecting 'yes' results in return to home screen without book being added. There is zero reason for this app to even poll battery life let alone exhibit behavior directly counter to user instruction. Also why query battery charge if you're going to ignore being connected to AC?

This app is good, but could be better with the addition of a few more features. I would love it if I could sort the books on shelves by volume #(I have a lot of manga and series's, and none of them are put in order). I've found that entering in more than one comic is impossible. For example: Marvel's Deadpool Kills Deadpool volumes 1 - 4 all show up as having the same ISBN, and will not allow for the series to be added. All in all, I really like this app, but more organization settings would be great.
I love it and everything works great I was just wondering is it a way to save my books I had to reset my phone and I lost all the books that I added
Latest update of Android (4.3 on Galaxy S3) and now the camera don't load from this app. Update: Camera now works. Added 1 star for the responsiveness of the author. App is sometimes very slow to respond, and sometimes gets caught in a loop when using the return button. The App will not "Exit", just switch between the last 2 actions.
On my phone, the main library isnt displaying the names of my books (like the words are cut in half). The bulk scan works nicely, I've yet to try the ISBN tool for adding, but I'll do that soon. Bulk adding to certain shelves would be nice, or being able to select multiple books in the library to add to a certain shelf at once. Otherwise, its nice, simple. My first issue is really the one thing that bothers me.
Barcode scanning is most important part for me. And frankly this one is horrible. Even if it just allowed me to use a third party scanner I would be OK with that. Tried for 10 minutes to scan a book with my Galaxy S4 with no luck. The scan box is too small and not sensitive enough. I'd be willing to pay for the app if it worked and had a paid version.
I couldn't get it to open past the very first screen.
This is a very nice app. It does exactly what I need it to do. It categorizes the library and its interactive main face is cute. It has some glitches as adding bulk books, it's not able to find all books. Scanner works good. It's better then the other 5 apps I have added that are much more complicated and its interface isnt as slick as this one! Good work.. waiting for updates. Galaxy S2.
Scanning works great and it's easy to search for a book in the app, but has some glitches when adding books your library and I can't find any way to export any data.
DROID RAZR maxx...wouldn't scan in a single bar code
Tried using this app several times and it said it couldn't activate the camera on my phone, try restarting the device. Did that 3 times, uninstalled the installed the app again, still didn't work. Guess I'll try something else.
You have to enter every book manually, the database doesn't recognize any of the isbns/barcodes!!
Does exactly what i want, warns me if i already own a book when scanning, would like to see a collapsable list of authors etc however no issues with current - HTC desire
Galaxy S2, works great and lots of nice features! By the way, I have no issues at all with the camera activating. Great app!!!
Has more bugs than Men In Black.
Was looking for a great and cheap... free app to help me track all my books, I get so confused when in bookstores. This was one of the good ones, except I couldn't view by author which is very important for someone who finishes book series. .. and then a lot of the books lacked covers n if there were there then they had been badly cropped. It's a shame
Efficient but glitchy Scanning works great and it's easy to search for a book in the app, but has some glitches when adding books your library and I can't find any way to export any data.

Wtf? Tried using this app several times and it said it couldn't activate the camera on my phone, try restarting the device. Did that 3 times, uninstalled the installed the app again, still didn't work. Guess I'll try something else.
Usage @Christina From the home screen select menu, then settings. Select "Choose a mode" and ensure that scan is selected. Phone specs indicate that your phone is equipped with a camera, so the barcode scanner should activate when you select "Add Book". The database is not pre-populated, you'll need to ensure your device has an active internet connection in order to download book data for items scanned or entered.
Useless.. You have to enter every book manually, the database doesn't recognize any of the isbns/barcodes!!
great addition Does exactly what i want, warns me if i already own a book when scanning, would like to see a collapsable list of authors etc however no issues with current - HTC desire
