FolderSync Lite for Android
Great app, that lets me sync with my owncloud without loosing data (greetings to the original app). The only downside is speed of indexing files and if you move files from one folder to another, it deletes (locally) the old file and downloads it again from the new location. I guess both is because WebDAV is used and not the OC protocol.
The one drive syncing does not work anymore . Can u help to fix it?
I cannot grant this app permissions to use SD card. I want to love this app but with that option greyed out in settings I cannot. Dropsync can write to my tablet's SD card
Works perfectly for what I need and has a free model far better than other similar apps.
It's free and does the job well for ftp sync for me.
Works great to sync with my server shared folder.
I was going to use this app for local folders sync, and it performs such action pretty good with one exception: time stamps for all moved files are reset to current date/time. So I've uninstalled it in favor of FolderSyncR which just 10 times smaller, and has similar issues on Android 6 (Doogee X5 Max).
Excellent app for syncing pictures so that deleted pictures on a device are also deleted on Dropbox. If there is problem with sync it is hard to understand what is wrong. For example sync was on and bandwith was used but folders were not synced and the program gave sync error. It seems that I needed to renew the rights for SD card, but the error description was not helpful. Also when truing to reload database it gave me: Foldersync import failed - write failed : EPIPE (Broken pipe).
I have had a lot of difficulty getting this to work. I think the problem is that my SOURCE is actually an SD card and the app can only look for source material on the device itself. Not sure if this is why, but I can't find a way to tell it that my files are there so I am unable to sync them to my cloud, which was my goal.
Instant sync doesn't always work. I bought the full version for the sake of instantly syncing folders when new content was added, but it wouldn't do this for the internal default screenshot folder to SD card which is the main reason I need this app. I have a Galaxy S7, and am content with just syncing manually.
Do application's programmers know that some (in fact lot of) people can write to SD card? I am disappointed that I cannot select directories to sync located on it.
Exactly the program I was looking for! Using this with Microsoft OneDrive for Android makes it so that I can very painlessly edit documents on my computer or my tablet and immediately have that work available on the other device. It makes Android OneDrive work like it should have from the beginning. I was using OneDrive for school and liked it in theory, but every time I made an edit on my tablet, it would create another version in OneDrive, and the versions would pile up. (Plus, for some things I had to save a copy, edit it, and then re-upload.) I take notes and work on things at school on a tablet, and then come home to keep working on my desktop, and being able to pick up my work on a different device exactly how I left it without having to transfer any files or log onto anything is awesome!
It works mostly but the UI is klunky and lots of little annoyances. Like unable to file browse external SdCard or unable to create remote directory when setting up pair. Or even can't view log for sync in progress. Lots of other odd UI inconsistencies to list here. Biggest issue is reliability. For long syncs it just stops with unhelpful sync terminated unexpectedly for unknown reason. Large files don't even work. Sometimes it just uploads same file again and again and again. Not what you want from sync.
Certainly keeps my fokders in sync between my phone cloud and tablet so a great app. If the beer request had come up a little later (after I had given it a good try out) I would donate but it came up at the wrong time. Can't find a way of donating at the moment.
It has a great potentials. The interface is a bit hard to hang of it initially. For some reasons my sync from Google Drive times out sometimes. Not too many files though.
It does what you expect it to do. Unfortunately, Android kills it when it goes into deep sleep and when I open two apps on top of it. I'm sure I won't have any problems because as soon as it competes the "inicial syncing", it's going to upload only a few hundred MB at a time.
Only sees internal SD storage. Cannot access external SD, except via root :-(. Es File Explorer and other apps do. Stops after 182/267 files of Titanium backup folder synced to Google Drive. No way to force to sync all files. Not trustable.
Technically working perfectly fine. The interface and user interactiability is confusing and annoying however. I have a Dropbox sync and I use both phone and PC to update files. So sometimes when I want to sync a file, it is conflicting. Basically I don't know which file is correct (maybe I have accessed both before sync). For safety I choose as sync: "skip", but I would like to see an option: "ask me". Now, after manually checking which file I want to keep, I have to go back in the menu to go to folder options, change "skip" to something that syncs the right file, sync, and change it back to "skip". Also the Sync Status screen can be clearer. E.g. show which files are synced on completion. Sync hist -> recent sync -> Downloads, are too many touches. Also the Sync duration in sync hist is unnecessary information. It took me a while to realise that it is not the sync time. I feel there is an unnecessary split between Sync status and folder pairs.
Everything else is rubbish! This is the one app that does exactly what it was designed for.
Great app but too many large & obtrusive ads.. I'll have to buy the paid version to get rid of them.. So I guess the ad strategy worked.
I like the app and it does backups well. But recently Google drive connections are failing (I made no changes to the folderpair) and the app can't read its own logs, so can't report errors to Tacit. I don't use Google+ so can't access their support group. On S7 with Android 7.
I've tried reauthenticating, i've tried making folderpair again, ive tried everything else, but nothing worked. I still cannot sync. It was checking files, and it was even syncing some of the files, but in the end still error. Ive check, though it said some files were synced, nothing is synced. Whats the problem here? I was syncing .mp3 files.
This app doesn't sync all the files ...if it does, it doesn't apend sync from earlier sync.it just overwrite everything because of that it take more time if you have many files in you local folder and then expires sync before it complete the sync task
Gets an critical job done which no other app is capable of. Onedrive, Dropbox and Google Drive can all sync a PC with the cloud but none of them, nor any other app that I have tried, will sync a directory on Android. The only reason I did not give a 5 star rating is that the user interface is confusing. Some tips: For true 2 way sync you must set folderpair to "sync deletions". I also had to set "ignore file size differences" to yes because identical files can be a slightly different size on Onedrive.
4 stars after upgrading to marshmallow and works great after giving permission to my external SD card. If you need it, you can't go wrong with foldersync. It works great at synchronizing folders between phone, my home network and cloud storage. I also use it to keep folders on the phone' internal and external memory cards in sync. Highly recomended.
I use it sync my tablet to my owncloud server on my local network. The sync logs don't give enough information when I set it up wrong, but it works well when I set up the folder pairs correctly.
I can sync all my files with my ownCloud server, it's great! And I don't miss any functionality.
Thank you for reducing the amount of worry that I have to put into my personal backups ¦ )
Worth paying for, good app and author deserves it, not just to remove adverts
The schedule doesn't seem to work. All settings and conditions are good, next sync time is set, but when I open the app I find the sync hasn't happened for days, since the last time I opened the app.
...It's stopped working, doesn't up load, down load. Shame, coz it was great.
Sync doesn't work anymore after nougat update, get a java handling exception error
After a begin with many hole and failure, this new version is very good. it works well as I can see.
Very temperamental: often hangs the whole device during syncs (and requires a hard reboot), and sometimes won't sync over a network that is clearly defined in the settings.
Can't sync Titanium backups to OwnCloud. 'Malformed content type' for .properties files, which is half the backup. Makes it totally useless. Disabled until there's an update. Fix it and I'll buy the full version!
Very handy! It works very well and my photos are finally backed up daily!
It syncs files, but it wont show status.. It is difficult to find which files synced and which are not. Its even not showing progress.
Seems to work occasionally but errors a lot with no real explanation in the log. Just says it had an error... but what didn't work? Account, path... what?
Work great for no root phone. Except for sync using SMB/CIFS unable to select hidden folder in the network. If move files to another folder either in source or destination, it will delete and re-upload the files which causing sync taking more time to complete the task.

Would love to use this app to sync to my FileZilla FTP server at home, but 3 minutes after starting a sync the connection drops with the error "Broken Pipe". All my other FTP clients can connect and transfer no problem.
