TravelTrack for Android
During the summer 2014 Aalborg University is conducting research into international travellers’ journeys in Northern Jutland. This is done in cooperation with Aalborg Airport, VisitNordjylland, Vækstforum and Aalborg Samarbejdet.
The research investigates how international travellers arriving in Northern Jutland through Aalborg Airport move around in the region, what modes of transport they use, and what their experience of visiting the region is. The purpose of the research is to gain more information about the travellers that visit the region through Aalborg Airport, in order to strengthen Northern Jutland as a destination for international air travellers.
Part of the research is the tracking of travellers as they move around the region. To do this, the TravelTrack app has been developed by Aalborg University. This is an app that allows the user to track their journeys on their smartphone.
The data from the tracking is analysed by Aalborg University, and will subsequently be part of the research outcome, along with data from surveys in Aalborg Airport and interviews with people who has travelled to Northern Jutland through Aalborg Airport.
The use of this app is conditioned by prior consent, and participation in the app survey requires an app-code, which will have been handed out by a member of Aalborg University’s research team.

Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.
