About Moths Ordbog

'Moths Ordbog' gives a picture of the Danish language of 1700, and includes a lot of everyday speech as well as the scholarly Latinizing of the time - so it's a bit of a social history document, too. But there's another curious use it has, as well. If you're approaching modern Danish from an Old Norse background, the simple and vigorously written definitions (in an old-time Danish, with Latin synonyms) are an entertaining way of exploring how the language developed.
