Exif4Film for Android
Excellent when used with the desktop application to apply metadata to my scanned images. The naming convention for the exported XML files could be improved. Note: make sure you have 64-bit Java installed if you're using the desktop app with a 64-bit OS
Database lacks information I expect to record including the three brands of camera I have, four brands of lens, "roll size" for LF.

I love this application. It does what it is supposed to, stores important data about each shot. I do not use the PC software to embed data (I use another application for that), but the data export format is pretty easy to adapt to almost any need with a little scripting. The best part of this app is its simplicity, the UI is clean and can be used easily in one hand while you hold a camera in the other. There have been almost no updates to the app in the many years I have used it, everything has stayed in its original place and the developers have not bogged it down with unnecessary integrations like so many other apps in the Android ecosystem. I do wish for a "notes" field on each frame, just as a way to keep other details that may be relevant (using external light that isn't flash, fired by remote, etc).
I've been using it since the first version in 2012, and although it has improved over the years a few things are missing to get 5 stars: - filters: only one can be selected. It would be great to have check-boxes instead of radio buttons to select more than one filter. Also, if you select a filter there is no way to eliminate filters later if you made a mistake. - lens selection: in the gear setup you select the cameras for which a lens fits, yet, when you want to select a lens in a p
Really useful but how do you delete lenses & cameras etc?
Film EXIF database tool that just works. Exactly what I needed for my good old Zenit. No need to use paper notes anymore. Thanks! Ačiū!
I am unable to export the roll data to local or drop box I am on a redmi note 2 on lollipop
The app has no Mamiya or Minolta in its list of gear, these are common film cameras. One has to then add these cameras manually and they show up as "Unknown make!!" Sending an email to the developers elicits no response. But once you get past these small irritations, the app performs really well. It took me a couple of reinstalls before I got all my gear in without polluting the camera lists. Go get it, its very helpful.
Does what it's supposed to. But doesn't work on the new Android IO. Fix it please. And we go back to 5 stars.
don't work on Android 6..
I like the possible info to enter, but it would be great to be able to fix the filter I use. I always have a certain filter for certain lenses. If this can be done it's a five star for me.
Worked fine up to Android Lollipop, but now crashes on attempt to open.
It's no longer working on either of my Android 6 devices (Nexus 6 and 7)
Your app is exactly what I was looking for some time ago. Happily used it ever since. Now I needed to change my phone. Great, there's an export for film rolls. That's what I thought. But now I am stuck that I cannot re-import the roll into the app. I could only find an import for the gear. How do I get my film roll information back?!?
Can't set precise aperture range when adding lenses however.
Overall I like it, but I think it's enoying that Metering mode and Light source are always preset to "average" and "daylight" even if the previous picture were set differently. I would also prefer that the roll-profiles which are created, would be headlined by camera make/model prior to filmtype.
The user interface isn't great, its not even Holo and is lacking when you compare it to the developer's other apps. It loses the ingenuity award when you pit it against PhotoExif, its iOS competitor. Also a lack of support for Mac OS X and Linux is a shame and makes this app worthless to me. The only thing going for this app is that its got going for it, is a monopoly on the Play Store.
A couple of problems -I can't get the PC plugin to work with lr5 and the date picker in the app sometimes will not keep the date I input, reverting to today's date. Very good nonetheless
Great to dispense with the notebook and pencil - one less thing to carry - and also useful to also have location info. But all useless unless I can get the exif data out and onto my scans. Between this and PhotoExif surely someone can build something that works for Android + Mac OS! Description mentions a Lightroom plug-in that I assume can also read the xml export but where is that?
Excellent replacement for paper exposure record book
This app is just great, and since the last update also highly configurable. The really clever part is the ability to very easily attach the correct exif data to the correct scan, provided you use the same numbering (filename) for the scans as the exposure numbers in the app. The exif data can even be exported to Dropbox, and the desktop app will retrieve them from Dropbox. Large format shooters (like myself) will appreciate that the f-stop scale now goes all the way to f/256.
I had previously been using a notebook, and was adding in manually using exiftool. Then I switched to then typing in the exposure data in a text file and processing that with some Python code to write the EXIF. Then I tried this app. Not only does it record more than I ever did with a notebook - automatically grabbing the GPS location etc., it can export directly to dropbox so transferring the info back to the PC is easy as anything. Brilliant. When I first tried it I noticed a couple of bugs, but after I reported them the Android one was fixed within 2 days and the desktop one 4 days. That's pretty good stuff for a free application if you ask me.
Needs a way to manage, modify and delete camera and lens items. The max value for lenses is limited to f45 which is too little.. certain lenses and large format lenses can go beyond f64..
This is the first app I rate in Play - that is how great it is. Being a film photographer, I painfully lacked a good exposure recording tool. Now we have it on Android. And I haven't even tried a plugin yet
Have facil registrar los datos de tu exposicion en film.
Fantastic app! Big kudos to the developers!!! Hope this project continues to expand and grow! Thanks for making this app free. Love the comprehensive database. Contains all brands and film types that I use. Excellent options for data management and wide array of features that any film photog could possibly want.
While it is a great idea and is looking very promising, the app crashes when adding the scond exposure to a film roll. Crashed on both, Xperia X10 and Google Nexus. therefore - nice idea but unusable
Finally, a useful exif app on the market!
Why has it taken so long to come up with this?!? Thank you Petal pixel for sending me here!
Superb app.
Awesome!

Crashes when adding 2nd Exposure to film While it is a great idea and is looking very promising, the app crashes when adding the scond exposure to a film roll. Crashed on both, Xperia X10 and Google Nexus. therefore - nice idea but unusable
Simply awesome! Why has it taken so long to come up with this?!? Thank you Petal pixel for sending me here!

It's missing an equipment manager so you can delete and add cameras/lenses and I'd love to be able to customize what gets recorded for each combination of camera and lens for example some cameras don't have flash or light meters
