Norwegian iConcierge for Android
It never gets passed the load screen so i cant rate anything else. Unless it can only be used on ship. If so then it's just a stupid app. Because i'd like to book some additional stuff but my trip is still 6 months away. You'd think I'd be able to open the app and look some stuff up but it just wont open. BTW the website isn't much better.
Used on Breakaway NYC to Bermuda. Need to open the app each time to receive our send texts or calls. The app is useless when you're trying to get a hold of someone. Doesn't show your reservations for shows. Expenses displayed are inaccurate. Save your money and disconnect.
At $10/devise it was pricey. It needs to have a notification system so you know when someone is trying to call or text you. Also needs a way to send a group mesage. Calling never worked for us. Tried booking events on the app but it didn't work. Great idea but needs some improvements to make it easier and quicker to use.
Once on board the app becomes helpful and can tell you many things about the cruise. Prior to cruising though the help it was to me was a countdown to my cruise and did not sync with my account/reservation to tell me anything about the cruise. That option would be a very nice addition to the app
Messages aren't delivered, phone calls don't always go through. App requires restart constantly. Even pop-ups have "asdfasdf" place holder text still in them!
Another gimic to get you to spend more $$.(you can text/call other people on board with you for $9.99 p/p per phone). The daily events were not accurate on the app. They were quick to update your account and show you how much you spent but couldn't tell you your dinner reservation times or shore excursion times. Needs some major upgrading to make it semi useful. Waste of time otherwise!
The only useful feature is one that should be free - $1-2 at most: making dinner reservations. "chat" is useless. Connection is spotty, and the volume in the alert (unadjustable) is so low it can't be heard. Events list doesn't list all scheduled for the day.
Sometimes it works and sometimes not! Calls and texts are lost! Great idea but doesn't make the grade. It also doesn't give all info that the cruise daily does. You can't team text
Ok but not great-chat section is useless. It is handy to keep track of your account and see what's going on around the ship. However, the chat part is useless; the app send to disconnect whenever you move around the ship and you will not get any onboard texts. You have to remember to restart the app when you move to another location (such as the restaurant) for it to work. This totally defeats the purpose of this app since your kids will not remember to restart the app and therefore, will never get your texts.
Just got back from a 10 day. Still terrible. According to the app nothing was happening each day on the cruise. But I could see what I was being charged in real time....
Had to relaunch every time and would not let me relaunch. Worst ever. Not that it works poorly. Does not work at all. No ship map. Actually very little info. Printed paper still the best. We haven't grown much since the Titanic. I hope the life boats work better.
To actually use the text/call feature you have to pay $14. The feature is buggy and often does not work. It also will frequently disconnect from the WiFi and make you register- which changes your "phone number". The schedule was nice to have but often did not load and provided almost no information about what the event was. We did use it and we would have struggled to organize a big group without it, but it is ridiculously overpriced considering how buggy it is.
Had to force the app closed and restart regularly. Had to have it open to see the new texts. Beats the alternative of carrying a walkie talkies.
Just OK. Had to keep logging in when kicked off. Does not include your itinerary for advance purchased events. Good for messaging and calls for people in our group.
This was a great app to have. The texting was 7.95 per person but was well worth it, especially with groups. It does force you to carry your phone around on vacation, but was fine because most people use their phone for pics. I had no technical difficulties getting on Wi-Fi and using the app. Text and notifications worked well.
Very basic app with a nice concept but poorly executed...every time wifi is turned off you need to relaunch the app in order to work; the account overview does not work properly (it mixes up wrong amounts and items when scrolling up and down); a basic thing such as restaurant reservations and shore excursions are not shown for quick consultation; user interface is bad, needs tweaking; amongst other annoying little issues...
Pretty poor... minimal info. A lot of room for improvement. Could show itinerary/schedule, things you reserve, etc.
Everything but what I downloaded this app for worked perfectly, but the messaging functionality (all I ever used this for) worked so poorly and inconsistently that I wish I hadn't wasted time I'll never get back when I got this application.
Won't function until you're on board the ship. What a missed opportunity to let you look around the ship, see what dining is available, check out the entertainment, book excursions, order drinks packages, see the itinerary etc. Such a shame
Well, it looks like nobody at Norwegian is listening. App still freezing at title screen so I have no idea what else is right or wrong. Judging from rest of the reviews here stating the same issues over a long period of time, this appears to be another area where NCL just doesn't care.
App does not have a group messaging feature, so you would have message your party individually to plan. App requires very frequent relaunching...$10 for an unreliable app.
Used it on Gettaway, did what it was suppose to do which helped me book reservations, shows, and see my account activity albeit didn't always work correctly with account activity. So for using it on a cruise for the first time. It did what it was designed for but needs way more improvement.
Handy but it crashes all the time. Schedule doesn't always match the printed version so don't trust it.
This app was completely useless. Wouldn't recognize that I was on the ships wifi. Had to keep force stopping it and after a while that didn't work either. Great idea, too bad it didn't work.
Good start. If you want a great cruise app. COPY CARNIVALS. This app doesn't tell you any restaurant hours. Doesn't give any details of events going on while on board.
The app works pretty well in allowing passengers to text or call each other while on the ship. Some people in our group complained that their phones lost the wifi signal at times & they had to restart the app. I found that when viewing my account activity that the details did not always match my actual account. It would be great if there was an option to see a layout of the ship to help to locate the various places/activities or one of your contacts. A ship's passenger directory would also be nice.
Does nothing till you are on board the ship and sign into the ship's wifi. The ship's wifi kicks your phone off after a few minutes, so you have a few minutes to use it before you have to sign onto the wifi again... then close the app, and reopen it to see if you have any replies. As for using it for amenities on the ship... again USELESS. Scrap it and start from the beginning.
This app is a big help on the cruises. Helps you find things to do. The text/call feature was also great for when I got sea sick one night and the boyfriend wanted to still be social while I was a bum in the room...we were able to keep in contact....but that feature costs too much...should be included :)

Gave me access to virtually everything I needed on board. Messaging too expensive but reverted to sticky notes just as I would have without app. Used to reserve show tickets and specialty dining venues, check prices etc. Lagged in updating cabin accounts but was so did onboard tv app. Acct was correct at end of trip saving visit to CS.
It was an AMAZING app before the update, now the countdown lags and doesn't remember the departure date (I have to fill it in everytime I open the app) And I'm afraid it'll be worse onboard, the chat was ok before, now if it lags this much i'm afraid messages might not send or even worse reservations not booked... Please fix it and it will be worth the 5 stars again
App is frozen on title screen now. Used it for my last cruise though and it was very useful! Great concept, but it has a long way to go before it can really be used properly. And I think a graphics overhaul is the first step here.
Doesn't work on tablets. And it sucked my phone battery down like last call at Senor Frogs!
Only thing it is useful for is to view your bill and even that is not accurate. Would be nice to be able to view deck plans and make restaurant reservations. Would also be nice if the freestyle daily was available in the app.
Inside the Norwegian sun ship, the app didn't work, my phone is in Spanish language, I change the phone language to English and it not work
Tried to use it every day of my cruise. All it would tell me is connect to in-ship wifi. Which I already was. No matter what part of ship. No matter if I connected to wifi before or after launching app. In airplane mode or normal. (cruise was nice though)
The app works on occasion. I found something one time and went back to check on it again and it was gone!
Opened the app, only the ncl title screen shows up....nothing happening here from what I can see...
Worked fine before the update, now it won't open....

Had to close and relaunch program every time I wanted to use it - otherwise it simply wouldn't operate. Primarily I used it to see what was going on around the ship each day, and to review my on-board account occasionally. For an extra $10 I also purchased the on-board texting application. Texts were not immediately received by others, and as noted above I still had to relaunch the program to see if I had received any messages.
