About Dietista - Your Nutritionist

Dietista is your new personal nutritionist!

Dietista builds, within seconds, a daily nutritional menu that fits your individual needs, while considering your goals. Yes, even your culinary requirements. Dietista will serve you a flexible and interchangeable menu that can be changed at any time. Additionally, every menu is attached with a grocery list that includes all the ingredients necessary to create the menus.

Features:
• Preparing a daily menu, suited for your needs, just like meeting a dietitian. The menu is flexible and interchangeable at any moment.

• Adaptation to your wishes and goals – diet, bodybuilding, or maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

• Adaptation to your culinary taste – option to change and customize every dish to your choice.

• Personally suited menu – what do you feel like eating now? A new feature that enables you to add whatever you'd like to eat at any given time. Different menu possibilities – vegetarian, kosher, a specific number of meals etc.

• Food rating – teach Dietista about your desires and culinary taste using a system for rating dishes.

• Adjustment to sportive activities – complete coordination of the nutritional menu to all types of sports and exercises. Any sport you do, will affect the making of the menus and its nutritional values.

• The application studies the user and becomes more accurate with time.

• Daily and weekly shopping list, sharable, that contains all ingredients for the menu.

• Documentation and close follow-up – Dietista will notify you when it's time to eat, weigh you every week, and even monitor your progress. The menu will be affected by every change and progress along the way.

• Accuracy and professionalism – the application was developed with the constant advisement of two senior nutritionists.

• It's the only application that takes into account the physical condition of the user and reaches a peak of accuracy.

• The application uses the FDA database.

the app mentions that dietary requirements are accounted for, but you can't tell the app about your allergies, etc.. they obviously don't realise how many people are gluten free, lactose free, etc.. and how much this so would rock if it could account for that.. team up with the UK coeliac society, have protein/ bodybuilding options. go, now.

Won't let me choose weight loss goal. Then it won't let me choose increase muscle mass because I haven't entered any exercises, yet I did. This renders this app unusable. I was really looking forward to trying it out.

by S####:

I'm impressed with Dietista so far and see the potential of the app. Unfortunately, it's has a few bugs in it that need to be worked out. There are minor bugs like misspellings, improperly labeled menus, and incorrect measurement units (date and weight don't pay attention to locale). Then there are major issues. One I came across is not seeing how to save my profile if I didn't sign in to Facebook. (I don't use Facebook.) Is it just saved to the phone? Backed up automatically using my Google account? Another issue is how the app assumes what your goal is. For example, I'm just wanted to lose weight, but it includes building muscle mass in my goal. I'd like to see this a little more configurable. As a side note, the features for the pro version look enticing, but I'm not sure if paying for that yet would be a good idea. I understand this is just a 1.0 release and I see where this could go, but I would wait for maybe a 1.5 release or even 2.0.

This app truly lacked in having enough realistic body images. To have only 3, is not thinking of all the demographic of people that will use the app.

So unbelievably useful! Using it right can really(!) make you feel the difference in lifestyle and general sensation, in a matter of weeks... Highly recommended.

The app has a great concept but unfortunately is very badly executed and is not bodybuilding friendly at all it sets protein requirements to low and does not allow you to customise it yourself to better suit your needs. I like the way it can fill in the diet according to the numbers for you to kill boredom and provide alternatives but that means nothing if the actual diet itself is poor. It says it can be used for bodybuilders but not one serious bodybuilder would consider using it.

Can't change one thing in the offered meal. Application doesn't consider the fact that people who are dieting usually have big awareness to healthy food. And won't choose creamy stuff or fat cheese. .. the option to choose whole grain brede or low fat cheese is essential. Also not enough vegetables. .. and it seemes that you can't really change anything beside switching the entire meal with another meal that you're not happy with every single thing in it. Besides that nice design.

Tried to set up, added my stats, all the exercise and selected maintain a healthy lifestyle. The app set me on a lose weight diet with a less than 1200 calories/day menu. It won't let me select maintain a healthy lifestyle nor gain muscle mass (says I have to add exercise, which I already did). A maintenance menu of 1250 calories/day is barely appropriate for a 50 year old female, 150 cm tall & 50 kg of weight that does absolutely no exercise. On the select your favorite foods, I feel greatly discriminated, as I am vegetarian, and the options for main course are: poultry, beef, pork, fish, no preference. One can only chose vegetarian when creating the menu, but the first impression is if you're vegetarian, you're on your own. The menu itself is at the very least awkward to follow: as an example a dinner of 2 slices of bread with cream cheese, two tablespoons of tofu (who measures tofu in tablespoons, and who eats only two bites for dinner) and 1 cup of cooked turnips. It's not a menu, it's a list of ingredients with which you have to fence to create anything appealing and tasty.

But I would also love to see more of a variety in foods to eat. 6 slices of bread a day, with cheese? It's a bit too much / bland to me.... I do understand you are under development, though, and I love the grocery list, and the whole idea of this app!! It makes me think a lot on the AMOUNT of food I eat at each go. =) Also, it's good to have something to look at when I plan what to eat each day. Keep on improving!! I also LOVE the simple interface. =)

I love the meal suggestions and the possibility of creating daily or weekly shopping lists. What I would like to see for me to increase my rating and upgrade to the pro version is basically two things. 1. Include recipes for the meals. My split pea soup is not the same as anybody else's split pea soup. My beef stew is very rich and has a lot of calories. 2. Be more economical. One of the meal items that was recommended today was one date. I can't buy just one, and what happens to the rest?

I thought this app would really help pick out a menu I like, but you get what you pay for. Free app, no choice of food... It's picked already. Want to swap for another option... pay extra for that pay of the app

Its sounds like it has potential to be a great app but does not setup properly. As soon I open the app it crashes...fix and I'll try for a better rating

That is what happened when 2 men designed a diet app. It doesn't matter how good your design will be but the power of a good app comes from it's adjustment to one's menu. As this app is based on the FDA food list, no common Israeli food is recorded in the menus list. Therefore, plain bagel with mozzarella cheese or chili concarne are not a common thing to find in the Israeli refrigerator. Another issue is the proportions and the recipes. There is a Hugh gap between restaurant tomato soup (for example) a home made one or a powder made one (in Israel there is a 10 calories tomato soup) . To conclude, nice idea- waist of money!
