SonarPhone by Vexilar for Android
I fish alot of paylakes and seen the competition (deeper) has an app. that marks all the spots so he knows where to fish next time he comes back. Wish I would have known this before I got the t-pod.
Most of the bad reviews on this product are due to human error and buying it for things it's not meant to do or a complete lack of knowledge as to what it actually is. This is an app that has to go with sonar you have to buy the sonar in order to use the app. I have used this for about a year on a 16 foot Lowe fm165 and it works great. It does have some bugs but what doesn't. For the price it's great. You can use it in conjunction with navioncs to mark spots and set way points. It creates its own wi-fi signal and works OK sometimes it does disconnect but it only happens occasionally and it's super easy to reconnect. The nice thing is everyone in the boat can connect and use the signal.
Just watching the video on the competition (deeper) and saw it has a flasher mode for ice fishing. Sonar phone is a great product but that would make it much better. Works great beside my Vexilar fish phone cam. Correct me if I'm wrong but the tech is already in the ball just need some software to make it happen. Please, make it happen... Can't give it more stars as it is an inferior product to the competitions without it. Everyone else who owns this should make the same request. Still waiting for an update from vexilar. *Update from me is sometimes the app suddenly says it is disconnected from phone even though phones Wi-Fi says it's connected. Have tried rebooting phone and also turning off Wi-Fi and reconnecting, which it does but software won't reconnect, say no signal found... Only solution is pulling it from water and wait for tpod to shut off before rebooting and using. Reconnects and works fine after that.
Works pretty good for a fish finder, would be 5 stars with a flasher mode added. Hope its in the works, I know I'm not alone on that request.
The second device that i get from the shop. The first one did not charge at all. The second one does not pass the 50%. Will go and ask for my money back.I really wanted to give it a chance, but it seems i cannot doi it.
Great app, I use this on my kayak, with the navionicsHD app, but please update for Quad HD phones , thanks
Do u need a a sonar do u need to bye one or can the phone pick it up
Want the flasher mode. If not ...next one will be the competitors...
Didn't say i needed wifi before installing
All day best fishing time
They need to make one with no wifi
It works great and just love it
Hoping it does the job
complete trash
good sonar but the app sucks
Love this app and fish phone
It caught me. A 2 and a half pound bass
I like it.
Freaking don't work
Only had it for a week, but so far I really like it. Combined with Navionics it work great. Have had a problem with my tablet losing the connection but my phone keeps the signal fine. Grate buy!
This product is great. Gets me on the fish everytime. Accurate, even more so than some stand alone sonars. The interoperability with Navionics makes this real nice when you spend alot of time on the water. And you can use several displays around the boat on one transducer. Awesome
I have this mounted to my kick boat and it works great.
This app would be awesome if you added a marine waypoints navigator function to it. I would pay for it.
I moved my old finder to the bow on my fish n ski and use this as my main sounder with a galaxy tab 4 thats not much good for anything else. I have it tied in with navonics charts and and gps and can drop markers where I'm catching fish on different lakes. However, does need some recalibration every once in a while. Cool product overall.
Will not read depth through the ice. The angle is too big for it to give you the right depth reading. Even though a 10inch hole. Plus the thicker the ice the worse it gets.
Having problems with the app shutting off and returning to home screen. Does it with my tablet and phone. Does the same thing with my fish camera also. Any suggestions???
Bought one for ice fishing love it best investment I've made so far marked so many fish with it
It caught me. A 2 and a half pound bass
Great app. I've been catching a ton of fish using the sp300 fish finder with this app. I also love that it connects to Navionics. I had a Humminbird portable fish finder but it sucked compared to the Vexilar fish finder.
I like it.
Freaking don't work
Different
mine only worked 15 minutes then battery wad dead and it was defective and would not take recharge pissed me off so bad i slammed it on a rock and the chip inside came off circut board .I returned it to vexlair for warrentee fix and they sent it back to me (nothing fixed)because "damage was not from water... PIECE OF CRAP PRODUCT POOR WORKMANSHIP AND WARENTEE IS NON EXISTANT ..... DONT BUY THIS ONE
My unit stops transmitting its Wi-Fi signal a lot. Then I have to try to figure out how to start it again. Only has the one button and I usually have to long press that to get it started up again. Otherwise it's a great unit.
If you use a small boat or canoe and on a budget this is a great alternative to buying a traditional mounted sonar. I use mine ice fishing and it works fine... If Vexilar stayed true to their roots and pushed out a flasher mode update this device would crush the 'deeper' competition. I have run this on boats that have another sonar just to see how it performs and its solid. I do find it disconnects occasionally if i leave the app on my phone but not difficult to relaunch.
I like it but never owning a finder before I have no idea of how to fully use it or how to read what I'm seeing. A in-depth instructional video would be great. Would rate 5 stars for video.
Wouldn't measure the right water temperature today.
Just have issues connecting back to my service when done fishing and back in service areas.
It is asome

Don't kid yourself this is a toy, not a real fish finder. It's very unstable and loses wifi constantly. No downscan and overall poor quality basic sonar. I realize it's inexpensive, but you really get what you pay for.
