xbmc Music – browse, play and queue music on your xbmc media center. Pick items from the audio library (artist, album, genre, song) or from the file system and see what’s on the playlist.
Supported version for xbmc is 11.0 – Eden and 12.0 - Frodo. I have not tested earlier or later versions. Please tell me your experiences.
This app runs on Android 3.0 and higher and takes the advantages of Honeycomb/ICS styling and the action bar. I am working on an app for older Android versions.

Connected straight away with no fuss. Plain simple layout makes it really quick and easy to find and play your music. No unnecessary complex options, Good search function. Perfect for what I want it for. Only drawback is on the queue next song feature - When no music is playing the first song in a new queue has to be long pressed and explicitly told to play, it would be nice if the first song played on a single touch and all following selections were then automatically queued.

This app is exactly what I'm looking for: a simple clean way of choosing music on my tablet which plays out of my xbmc box. 3 stars for that. The only problem, and quite a major flaw, is that it doesn't actually work. All I get is connection timed out errors, when other remote control apps work fine. Will keep installed and hope for a fix in an update. Keep at it dev :-)

Does not connect to XBMC 12. Other Android remotes work just fine with this player. And there should be at least an option of a darker skin if we talk about following modern Android interface styles. Giving a star because I like the idea of MPD-like music-only XBMC remote.

Won't even turn on after install.get time out error concerning port 8080!? What gives...shouldn't one of the best phones in the world be able to handle and music app !?
