Mit der Eroberung Freiburgs durch König Ludwig XIV fiel die Stadt von 1677 bis 1697 unter die Herrschaft Frankreichs. Freiburg wurde von Sébastien Le Prestre de Vauban zur Festungsstadt umgebaut und veränderte so ihr Erscheinungsbild grundlegend. Aber auch das Leben der Bevölkerung änderte sich.

Eine Karte zeigt Ihnen die Tour, beginnend am Freiburger Münster. Anschließend geht es zum Basler Hof und weiter zum Colombischlössle, eine ehemalige Bastion der Festung Freiburg. Nach der Universitätskirche und dem Uniseum geht es über den Mensagarten weiter zum Breisacher Tor, das letzte erhaltene Tor aus dieser Zeit. Zuletzt gehen wir über die Wallstraße und die Schneckenvorstadt hinauf auf den Schlossberg, das Endziel des Stadtrundgangs.

Finally, we go over the Wall Street and the Schneckenvorstadt up the Schlossberg, the final destination of the tour.
