Car-Net

Car-Net generally is unreliable even when using from the browser portal on a PC, but this app take it to a whole new level of unreliability. VW have software engineers clever enough to bypass emissions tests, so maybe they should move them onto the Car-Net team to get this sorted.

I have a Golf GTE and I mostly use this app to pre-heat the car before leaving anywhere. However saying it has a 50/50 chance of working would be a massive over statement. It takes ages to work, if it ever does work but most of the time it can't sync at all. I haven't been able to log in for over a week now as it's "unable to carry out this function, please try again later". One of the selling points of the car is useless because of such a bad app! Get it sorted. Suppose I'll just have to get the ice scrapper back out.

Great concept but just doesn't work! Communication with the car only works about 10% of the time which makes it unusable. Tried to preheat the car manually and that didn't work either. Come on VW, you must be able to make it more usable.

This is ridiculous. The service is limited, the server is very often off line. When I require vehicle status report, it doesn't "get it". It's a option in northern Europe and definitely not worth the investment.

Very unreliable. Bad UX. Also lacking some features. I would like to know the current inside and outside temperature of the car, please implement that feature.

The icon looks pretty and that's about it. Otherwise a completely useless app that effectively does almost nothing useful. Maybe it's a VW April Fools Joke they forgot to delete.

I can't even imagine how you can make such a unreliable app. Please VW contact somebody that can make apps.. How is this not embarrassing for your brand?

Pretty damn terrible, but this could be great if it actually worked, and the faults in the code were fixed. But it fails to connect most of the time, I can't rely on the app to set my departure time remotely - which is a big deal for a PHEV, where you want to warm it up while plugged in. The most irritating thing is when trying to set a departure time in the app, it will only let you do set a time for the morning! There is a 'pm' option to select, but it consistently reverts to 'am'. Such sloppy coding. All in, this really detracts from the VW brand. Great idea but poorly executed and so unreliable. I'm very glad my VW Golf is not like this app!

After the servers were moved to Europe it seems to be working better. However last update polls location all the time even though the app isn't running.

Drains my battery, seems to be polling my location constantly *while in the background*. Ridiculous.

Update December 1st, 2017. The updated version works better, not 100% though. If you have big issues with the app, delete all data in app management and log in again. How hard can it be, for one of the largest car manufacturers in the world? To develop an app that actually works!!??

They managed to make it even worse again. All of a sudden, with new update, log in page is in german. I get stuck in the second page where it asks for name and birthday, no idea why since I already have an account, the next button nevrer turns blue and clickable. The app makes me hate the car. I only wanted to preheat the car since it is freezing today.

Just bought gte, these functions would be awesome if they worked. But they don't. Late at night the heating and defogger button may work but when it matters in the morning, it fails to update to current status. Great concept, poor delivery.

So.. I have to enter my password every single time I open the app and there is no way to schedule warm-up. This app needs a lot of work. The warning message for rooted device keeps popping up even if I choose Continue anyway and "Do not ask again".

App is simplistic. Minimal functionality, need remote unlock/lock lights control. But worst is the fact that the backend servers continually go down so you can't login to control anything. It also has immense difficulty syncing in the evening, as if the servers are too busy. No way I'd pay for this abysmal service. Updated version arrived and is worse. Now when starting it seems to freeze at the Connecting screen unless I close and restart the app a couple of times. Still fails to sync properly to the car. Further update; so bad it loss me out while I'm actually using the app, for "security reasons". Appallingly bad.

Bad UX, I dont own multiple Cars, yet there the option to add cars is everywhere. Just spend some money on a better app please. Okthnxbye

Unbelievably bad app for a multi billion pound organisation. Whoever is responsible should be sacked. Embarrassing as it almost never logs in.

Too many bugs. Could not login a while ago. It was saying "wrong password". Also 2 days in a row I received strange e-mails, half in romanian, half in spanish...or portugues.

Usefull if would work. Unreliable Connection. Login most of the time unavailable. Ux very poor.

Have the car for more than three years now and VW is not able to deliver a working app. Worst app I have ever experienced, nearly nothing works.

Just got a new tiguan. What does this app achieve? Cant actually do anything useful at all...... uninstalled.

Remotely starting heater and charging/discharging works 5 of 10 times. The driving info is too basic. I need to see the consumption not the distance.

All my colleagues there have other cars joking with me. Nothing work. Volkswagen is horrible.

One of the reasons i bought the car was the functions in this app and ofcourse it ist working at all...... VW is messing up big time.

Updated the app and now you can't log on due to the next button never becoming available once you have entered your name. Currently have no remote access at all... Although the app has never been great even when it did work, slow, keeps throwing you out, fails to action a request...

After the latest update I can't even log in... this app is important for me to control car departure time, please improve!

Was fine until recent update, but now freezes and force closes app. Needs work VW... !

An unreliable app that gets progressively worse with each update. Surely VW has a little spare cash to spend on updating this.

Not worth using. Remotely starting heating/defogger does not work. Passat Gte Estate. Not fit for purpose.

With the last update, it doesn't even want to login. If it was working before, now it's useless.

Still not compatible with Android 8.1. sent sent mail to developer, but only silence.

Utterly hopeless. Never works when you need it to. VW all over!

Warmer and defreezer functions doesn't work and respond time is too long. I can't set some functions.

Surely it can't be that difficult to make an app that works when you have the backing of VW??? please fix it.

Keeps logging me out. Terribly slow to sync.

Exercise friendly, im constantly walking to the car to check on things and doing carnet functions.

The programmers of this app is a shame to german engineering
