Mit rund 70.000 Neuerkrankungen jährlich ist das Prostatakarzinom in Deutschland die häufigste Krebserkrankung bei Männern. Die gute Nachricht: Prostatakrebs verläuft weit weniger aggressiv als andere verbreitete Krebsarten wie Lungen- und Darmkrebs und ist deshalb gerade im Frühstadium sehr gut und vor allem schonend therapierbar.

Die iBrachy Therapie-Ampel informiert Patienten, Angehörige und allgemein Interessierte über das Prostatakarzinom und die vier unterschiedlichen Behandlungsmethoden, die bei einer Diagnose im frühen Stadium grundsätzlich infrage kommen.

Ein großer Tumor-chirurgischer Eingriff mit der totalen Entfernung der Prostata ist nicht immer erforderlich. Durch die richtige Wahl der Therapieform können die Impotenz- und Inkontinenz-Risiken für eine große Zahl von Männern deutlich gesenkt werden. Zum Beispiel mit der „Brachytherapie“, bei der wenige Millimeter große Strahler, sogenannte Seeds, direkt in die Prostata eingebracht werden. Durch die direkte Bestrahlung der Prostata können die umliegenden Organe maximal geschont und dadurch die Nebenwirkungen reduziert werden. Die Behandlung dauert maximal 90 Minuten und ist – im Vergleich zur Prostata-Entfernung - ambulant möglich.

Die iBrachy Therapie-Ampel ermittelt auf Grundlage persönlicher Diagnosewerte, ob die Brachytherapie als schonende Prostatakrebs-Behandlung für den Patienten infrage kommt. Gleichzeitig kann der Nutzer kostenlos und unverbindlich Kontaktdaten von Ärzten und weitere Therapie-Empfehlungen anfordern.
