Prüfberichte informieren über Gegenstand, Art und Umfang sowie das Ergebnis einer Prüfung. Bereits seit 1995 verfasst TÜV SÜD Industrie Service alle Prüfberichte elektronisch. Nach dem Erstellen erhalten Kunden einen auf speziellem Wasserzeichenpapier gedruckten Originalprüfbericht zugesandt, haben aber zusätzlich die Möglichkeit, den Prüfbericht als PDF abzurufen und weiterzuleiten. Da bei den PDFs aber auch bei Kopien des Originals das Wasserzeichen fehlt, lässt sich die Echtheit nicht mit absoluter Sicherheit gewährleisten. Aus diesem Grund versieht TÜV SÜD Industrie Service seit Mai 2012 alle elektronischen Prüfberichte mit einem QR-Code. Dieser verweist zum Originalbericht auf einem gesicherten TÜV SÜD-Server.

Mit der APP TÜV SÜD Verify kann der Benutzer komfortabel und schnell überprüfen, ob der ihm vorliegende Bericht mit dem bei TÜV SÜD gespeicherten Original übereinstimmt. Dabei ist es unerheblich ob der Bericht elektronisch als PDF oder als Kopie bzw. Fax vorliegt. Einfach den QR-Code auf dem Bericht scannen und die APP ruft den korrespondierenden Bericht auf dem TÜV SÜD-Server ab.

QR-Codes künftig auch auf Prüfplaketten
In einem weiteren Schritt wird TÜV SÜD Industrie Service künftig Prüfaufkleber mit QR-Code auf geprüften Anlagen wie z. B. Aufzügen, Rolltreppen, Druckbehältern, elektrischen Anlagen anbringen. Über den Code erhalten Benutzer Erläuterungen zum jeweiligen Anlagentyp und können u. a. folgende Informationen abrufen:

• Wann wurde die Anlage geprüft?
• Wann ist die nächste Prüfung fällig?
• Was wurde geprüft?
