About Wiener Linien
For all our customers, who like to get things done with their smartphone, the Wiener Linien offers a comfortable way to buy tickets from within the app and download tickets, which were previously purchased in the Online Ticketshop. There are absolutely no hidden fees (unless for your internet access). The tickets purchased within the app are personalized to you and valid in combination with a photo identification of yours. So we are even able to check afterwards if you were in the possession of a valid ticket in case your device was running low on battery during ticket control.

Bei App Inkompatibilität nach Smartphone update - bekommt man keine Hilfe sondern Beleidigungen von den Kontrolleuren entgegengeworfen. "Jetz brauchens kanns mehr kaufen" Nach dem ich mit einem ältern smartphone nach Erdberg gefahren bin musste ich zwar nichts mehr zahlen aber eine Frechheit der Sonderklasse war diese behandlung wie üblich bei fast allen Kontakten mit den Wienerlinien. Da die App nur hin und wieder mal funktioniert - 1 Stern

Zuerst muss man sich umständlich registrieren (inkl. Adresse und Geburtsdatum - Wozu?) und dann gibt es keine Einzelfahrscheine, sondern nur teurere 90-Minuten Handy-Tickets. In dieser Form für mich leider völlig nutzlos und keine Alternative zum Ticket-Kauf am Automaten (der mir das Ticket übrigens auch dann aushändigt, wenn er nicht weiß, wo ich wohne).

Tickets on the app are more expensive than paper tickets (when it should honestly be the other way around). The app is VERY glitchy when it comes to payments.

Today I was in U Bahn when a collector asked me to show the ticket. Unfortunately my mobile phone battery was dead, so I asked him to look up for my personal details in the system, showing my ID card. He was not able to find them in the system, so he said I have three days to go to the Wiener Linien offices explaining the situation, otherwise I have to pay the fee he finally gave to me.

It is impossible to visualize the jahreskarte on the smartphone. The menu on the smartphone is different from the one on the instructions page, there is no Aktuelle tab where the jahreskarte should be!! No help, no support, this app is not user friendly and it does not really work as supposed....
