MortPlayer Music

Looks like this app has been abandoned for a while now, and can't find my sdcard at all under Android N. Sad to see the mighty MortPlayer fall after a long run as my go-to music player through multiple devices. Just switched to VLC and though it's not just a dedicated music player it does a good job, plays from actual folders directly or playlist files as well as having a more modern library mode, also plays a variety of network sources including streaming mp3/aac radio stations from playlist files saved on the device which is really nice and MortPlayer never did. It's also free and open source, worth a try if you're looking to replace MortPlayer.

I used to.give 5 stars to that app. But as it suddenly stopped reading my sd card when other app still do. And as I never had any reply... I will now give it only 1 star as 0 is not an option and will certainly will not recommend it to anyone. BYE

This is app is so simple and yet so powerful. It does not have Playlist it can use the very file folder you store your audio as the equivalent of a Playlist. You can organize your audio into different folders as your Playlist. The best feature of Mortplayer is its ability to rewind audio in 10 seconds increments.

This is the perfect player for anyone that knows how to use a file system. My phone fell a-foul of the empty playlist bug. It affected a couple different music players that I tried. Thankfully Mortplayer ignores all the hidden secrets and just uses the file system as file systems were intended to be used. Thank you MortPlayer!

Used to be great, now you can't pick a folder, you have to use it's auto discovered list... Which is only the internal memory and the wrong folder, and it can't see the SD card at all. So now it's useless :(

Back alive with new Android feature which integrates SD card into one memory along with phone memory!!! (On minus: no star rating On plus: battery friend (switches itself off), play folders, disable ads, lock screen like pro! Worked for me on: Desire Bravo - stock 2.2, cm2.3.5, cm2.3.7 ¶ On SGS3 4.4.4 Android forbids access to SD so it has to be fixed manually bu user. Android upgraded to 6.0.1, Mort can't access SD card, probably at all. 4.5 * the app star rating is real, paid for players might have 100 more options, but even then this one is more intuitive. I have had player settings resetting (some of them) when player changed from landscape to portrait. Fixed it to one mode, no problems anymore. Mind this player wasn't updated for years and something might not work (Android version 6 is to be avoided ) hence 4.5* is kind of even better.

M4A and WMA files not working on my i9000 but working on my i9100 same.versions... Weird also like others it.seems.its not shuffling entirely and crashes randomly still love the player compared to others Ive tried. On my Moto G3 some songs output no sound and I have to restart them. Sort of a glitch ...

Will randomly go silent (time is still going, it's still playing, just no sound). I have to restart my phone to fix it (doesn't happen with any other apps). Navigation is annoying. It will switch folders and I have no idea what I did to cause it. I wish there was a "go back 30 seconds" for those of us listening to audiobooks. All in all, a very frustrating app to work with.

After installing mortplayer on my 3 devices I notice something. whichever I try to press next on the taskbar of my phone and on lock screen, nothing happens. Is there a bug somewhere? It's the same on my other devices. I have to maximize mortplayer just to play, pause, next and stop. Please I/we need update fix.

The worst UI ever! 1 Star for ignoring me for so long. Try driving and change to a pecific track or folder. Or use the EQ... The controls are scattered and difficult to reach. There is no playlist (winamp style) so you can see what comes next. I can help you with the design for free. But you have to prove you are changing.

This is indeed an excellent music player. The customization can be bit over whelming, but with a little time, it works just as I like. I wish there were future updates lined up, just to ramp up the interface a bit. If you can get past a little dated interface, this is just the best player. And top it all, its free! Thanks for the great work.

It has very good sound quality, powerfull and simple interface. I still can't belive it's free, because it's better than leading paid player apps. And I love the FOLDER NAVIGATION !!!.

Awesome player. Love the widget, love the interface. Though it stops playing when I bump the headphone jack which doesn't happen in the native music app, weird, but a minor inconvenience. Still 5 well earned stars.

... this was the best music player of the all. But user interface is still living in 2.3 FroYo era, folder reading is buggy, music unexpectedly stops at random, it forcecloses several times a day, and they have introduced ads. Sorry, but its glory have faded.

There is no option to set button action to increase or decrease media volume. Also, changing button action for the Skip Forward button when long pressed, from 'next folder' to 'fast forward' requires restart of the app. Otherwise it reverts back to 'next folder'. I ended up installing the Philips Headset app.

Excellent player for people who whants to play music based on Folders. I've been using this player for very long time only due to this feature. From last updated, Controls on screen lock and on Sony MW1 Bluetooth headset are not working. If want to skip some track, have to unlock the phone, open app and change. Hope these bugs will be addressed in future update. HTC One M7.

Been using this app for two years now. It's generally gotten better and better. I don't know if the stock players have caught up to Mort in terms of freedom of file structure, but I don't intend to find out.

So far so good. I've been searching for a player that was undoubtedly the best for me for about a year now and I found this one by accident and I hope we keep getting along. Get it don't mess it up. Don't fix something that's not broke!!!!!!

I've used Mortplayer since back in its WinMo days and it's tops. An outstanding array of configuration options. Only Rocketplayer comes close. I only wish Mort had a video player.

People have mentioned it already but here it is again. Random stops and force closures. But the most common "glitch" is when skipping a song; Audio just shuts off. Only way to get it back is to go into program and restart the song or rewind to beginning. Very frustrating nuisance especially when you cannot get to your phone and open it and use the lock screen skip.

Great app for those who prefer library organisation based on actual folder structure. Not many of those around. A suggestion to the author: perhaps, if it is possible, you could add gapless playback? Currently, if one is listening to a continuous mix that is split up into individual tracks, there is a half second gap between each of the tracks. This is definitely a star taken off as this is an essential feature in my opinion. Apart from that, an awesome app which is very configurable.

sometimes it stops automatically I don't know what's the problem any solution here plz............. otherwise I really love it...... I using it from my first phone..........

It's all about folder structure navigation when it comes to being able to use an android device as an eye's off media player for your car. There may be other apps that I'm not aware of, but so far this is the only one I've found that allows me to use an old android phone as an in-car media player for my album collection. Other apps allow you to use gestures to advance to the next track (or previous) but treat your collection as if it's in a single folder. Having the ability to swipe up or down through the folder structure allows me to navigate (by touch) to the first track of each individual album as opposed to having to skip through every track.

I've tried lots of android music player and I like this one the most. All I needed was folder playing feature, folder navigation with file sorting option, and playlist support. This is perfect player for me. But 'lots of feature' also means it's hard to get used to all the features and its interfaces. The only problem I have is I can't make playlist from folder when it's selected with subfolders. Is there any way I can add a parent folder with subfolders to playlist? Too hard to make playlist.

Some people have trouble accessing their SD card in Marshmallow. Android has relocated the directory. Add a new file location, which should open at /mnt. use the up-on-level button on the bottom left of the screen to get to the top level /. Then go find "root", and look in that folder for a weird number. Look in there and you should find your SD card. Hope that's enough direction! Enjoy this app - it's the best way I've found to access music that I put on the SD card.

This is by far the best folder based player. (I've tried like 5 others recently. ) It's the most intuitive and versatile. The major drawback is that since my last phone update it doesn't read the sd card. Hence why I've been trying all the others. None compares tho so i hope they get this fixed so i can rate it the 6 stars it deserves.

Please consider adding the ability to switch/push the output of your two audio player apps to a DLNA receiver (aka Samsung Allshare). I'd like to be able to take what I'm listening to and route it to my tv/stereo without having to load some other inferior player and relocate my position/song. See the default Samsung player or YouTube app for examples of a button which lets you choose another "renderer". Also, your email address bounces.. :(

All good, but for some wishes: - Lock screen layout to be adjustable / available for the Samsung S-View Cover so that I can operate the player with a closed cover and lock screen on. - I also miss a very "primitive" layout: Just the list of songs (played before and after) with navigation button (next/ previous/ stop/ play/ pause) - Control via volume button for next previous (some player have that: double click on louder actually plays next song, double click on lower volume plays previous song)

It doesn't use VIPER4AndroidFX audio even when I try to force it. The built in equalizer also doesn't work. Music sounds really flat. This is my favorite music app, but it hasn't been updated in almost a year. If it gets updated to work with Viper I'll use it again, but until then I'm looking for a new player.

This used to be the only music player I used. It is easy and fast and customizable. Perfect for people like myself who like folders as playlists. I have spent hours setting my folders up the way I like, I don't want to have to set up playlists also. Only reason I got rid of it was because it stopped reading my SD card when I upgraded to Android 6.0.1

Keeps on throwing folders I have no idea about and when I do find the folder I want, I can't actually figure out how to make anything play. Must have been some Linux buff that made this, because it could hardly be less user-friendly

I am using moto g third gen phone with android6 marsh mello. I am not able to locate my SD card to play music files. when I go to settings/configuration, it only shows internal storage. it was my favourate app till I was using lollipop. I hope the developer fixes this issue as quick as possible.

It's got everything you may need on a music player and so much more. Organizing by folder is the most logical and convenient way. Other player do it too but have no other features. This is the fullest in features. But. The menu is all over the place. Confusing and counter intuitive. I reviewed a lot of other players but I always return to mort player as it really has everything I need.

I have been using it for a very long time. I like all the features, especially the folder based play, timer, types of shuffle. But, I'm looking forward for some updates, better equalizer , to fix the glitches in updating the tags and the ability to automatically search for album art for EACH track. FYI, I have 12GB of songs in my phone :-D so it suits me well

Seems to do everything I want in a music player. Had issues after an update to Marshmallow (Android 6) . Player stopped seeing the external SD card. I had moved many programs off the phone to the SD card to make space. Seems that if an app has bee moved to the SD card ti loses permission to use that SD card. Go figure. I moved Mort back to internal storage and was able to set the permission to use the SD card. Still have some issues with m4a files that used to work; might be a Marshmallow thing. Also, Marshmallow seems to have renamed the path to the SD card, borking my saved playlist.

As someone else said, it's crashing once in awhile. The main concern is, I have about 250 folders of music. Shuffle option is repeating only few of them in random order. As if it is just shuffling 15 or 20 folders out of 250 and continue playing only those 15 or 20 folders again and again.

Having a discerning ear, I value music. This player has brought my music collection to life! I particularly appreciate the bass boost function. giving me the thump without drowning out the rest of the musical experience. Thank you development team, for this treasure!
