Sciebo is a secure and free of charge cloud service aimed at students and employees of more than 20 universities in NRW. It is operated by the universities themselves, meaning that the data is stored on-premise only and, therefore, particularly safe.

Wie hier schon angemerkt wurde, gibt es beim Versuch, den Nutzernamen einzutragen, eine Fehlermeldung. Diese konnte ich allerdings beheben, indem ich Im obersten Feld den entsprechenden Server eintrug (z.B. uni-muenster.sciebo.de; Das hätte man wirklich auch an der Feld dranschreiben können). Ist man dann eingeloggt scheint auf den ersten Blick auch tatsächlich eine echte Synchronisation stattzufinden, die es bei Dropbox so nicht gibt (Dort erhält man nur eine Ansicht der Dateien wie über die Weboberfläche und Daten werden nicht tatsächlich auf das Endgerät übertragen). Der Nachteil daran ist natürlich ein deutlich erhöhtes Datenaufkommen bei regelmäßigen Änderungen großer oder vieler Dateien. Die Funktion der Option "Keep file up to date" in den Details einzelner Dateien kann ich in diesem Zusammenhang leider auch nicht einordnen. Muss die Synchronisation einer Datei ohne die Option immer händisch angestoßen werden? Eine klare Beschreibung der Funktionen wäre wünschenswert.

Da ich superbegeistert vom sciebo-Angebot bin und das Testangebot des Münsterschen Rechenzentrums bereits genutzt habe, schieße ich gleich mal fünf Sterne voraus. Die gibt's für 30 GB, Datensicherheit, ein kompetentes Team und die eigene App - da Sciebo im Wesentlichen eine Owncloud ist, hätte man uns auch an deren kostenpflichtige App verweisen können. So habe ich den grünen Elefanten auf dem Homescreen und 79 Cent gespart. :) Bin gespannt auf die Arbeit mit sciebo.

Sobald ich die App öffne, bekomme ich eine Seite auf der oben .sciebo.de steht, darunter könnte ich theoretisch Benutzernamen und Passwort eingeben, allerdings stürzt die App ab sobald ich auf Benutzername tippe.

Not able to see any files from android client. It says 'loading' all the time, and very annoying.
