Bay.-Tsch. Landesausstellung

Der Freistaat Bayern und die Tschechische Republik nehmen den 700. Geburtstag Kaiser Karls IV. zum Anlass, eine gemeinsame Landesausstellung mit internationalem Rahmenprogramm zu veranstalten. Der böhmische und römisch-deutsche König Karl IV. (1316–1378), 1355 in Rom zum Kaiser des Heiligen Römischen Reichs gekrönt, gehört zu den bedeutendsten und facettenreichsten Herrschern der böhmischen und deutschen Geschichte. Die Ausstellung in Prag (15.5.-25.9.2016) und Nürnberg (20.10.2016-5.3.2017) zeigt einzigartige Exponate dieser spannungsreichen Epoche. Sie präsentiert die Lebens- und Regierungszeit Kaiser Karls IV. im Spiegel des wechselvollen 14. Jahrhunderts: Weite Teile Mitteleuropas büßten damals infolge von Naturkatastrophen und Pest mehr als ein Drittel ihrer Bevölkerung ein. Zugleich ist das Jahrhundert durch eine reiche künstlerische und kulturelle Blüte am Hof Karls IV. und im Königreich Böhmen sowie in den Ländern des römisch-deutschen Reichs gekennzeichnet.
